It is hypothesized that the digestible indispensable amino acid score (DIAAS) can be determined based on dynamic in vitro gastrointestinal digestion experiments as replacement for invasive animal studies. We determined the in vitro DIAAS for immature herring eggs (roe) proteins in comparison with reference proteins.

AbstractBACKGROUNDOat protein concentrate is often used in human food, but the quality of this protein has not been characterized. Therefore, the objectives of this experiment were to determine the standardized ileal digestibility (SID) of crude protein (CP) and amino acids (AA) in oat protein concentrate and to determine differences in protein quality

PSV-2 Digestible indispensable amino acid scores (DIAAS) in pork products
Journal of Animal ScienceAbstract The “Digestible Indispensable Amino Acid Score” (DIAAS) method measures protein quality in human foods. However, values for DIAAS are not available for some pork products. Therefore, this study aimed to determine DIAAS values for nine pork products.

With the growing demand for sustainable and high-quality protein sources, evaluating their digestibility and amino acid availability is essential for human nutrition. The objective of this study was to assess the digestibility and Digestible Indispensable Amino Acid Score (DIAAS) of two novel protein sources, barley protein concentrate (BPC) and corn ...

The Digestible Indispensable Amino Acid Score (DIAAS) is the new gold standard method for the assessment of protein nutritional quality. The DIAAS is evaluated with in vivo models, that are complex, constraining and costly. There is still no established method to assess it in vitro.
