Rapeseeds a Rich Source of Polyunsaturated Fatty Acids

open access: yesProceedings, 2019
In human diet, polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA), have an essential role in optimal brain functions and stroke prevention, specially, omega-3 fatty acids, e.g., 9,12,15-linolenic acid (ALA, 18:3), 5,8,11,14,17-eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA, 20:5), and 4,7 ...

Arachidonic Acid and Docosahexaenoic Acid Metabolites in the Airways of Adults With Cystic Fibrosis: Effect of Docosahexaenoic Acid Supplementation [PDF]

open access: yesFrontiers in Pharmacology, 2019
Cystic fibrosis (CF) is an autosomal recessive disorder, caused by genetic mutations in CF transmembrane conductance regulator protein. Several reports have indicated the presence of specific fatty acid alterations in CF patients, most notably decreased levels of plasmatic and tissue docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), the precursor of specialized pro ...

Evaluating the effect of γ‐oryzanol on MASLD pathology using a medaka fish model

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This study explores a liver disease called MASLD, which is increasing worldwide and can lead to serious damage. Researchers used medaka fish instead of rodents to test a food compound, γ‐oryzanol. Fish fed this compound had less liver fat and healthier gut bacteria.

Exploring the Role of Polyunsaturated Fatty Acids in Children’s Sleep

open access: yesBiomedicines
Research on the effects of polyunsaturated fatty acids on children’s sleep has made significant advancements. This study explores the unique pathways through which polyunsaturated fatty acids, particularly docosahexaenoic acid and eicosapentaenoic acid ...

Engineering Immunoregenerative Therapy via an Immunomodulatory Binary Pharmacology Hydrogel Depot for Prolonged Allograft Survival

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An immunomodulatory hydrogel (iGEL) forms spontaneously upon subcutaneous injection, acting as a tissue‐adhesive depot. It releases anti‐rejection and regenerative agents in response to inflammation, suppressing T‐cell activity, promoting vascular repair, and restoring allograft function without systemic immunosuppression.

Super‐Multiplexed Label‐Free Raman Imaging Uncovers Novel Testicular Metabolic Couplings for Residual Body and Spermatogonial Differentiation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Super‐multiplexed Label‐free Raman Imaging (SLRI) enables 2D/3D metabolic mapping of intact Drosophila testes. Moving beyond descriptive morphology, it establishes a multidimensional tool for tissue metabolic remodeling, and offers a generalizable platform for complex tissue analysis, with implications extending to development and disease. ABSTRACT The

Selenomethionine Regulates the Arachidonic Acid Metabolism‐Ferroptosis‐Inflammation Axis to Ameliorate Colitis

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
Selenomethionine can ameliorate arachidonic acid‐induced colonic injury through synergistic mechanisms, including alleviating inflammatory responses, improving barrier integrity, enhancing antioxidant capacity by upregulating selenoprotein expression, selectively regulating AA metabolism to reduce pro‐inflammatory oxylipins and promote the production ...

Unveiling Endotypes in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus Through Multiomic Analysis: Insights Into Cardiovascular and Renal Complications

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, EarlyView.
Objective Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) shows clinical and molecular heterogeneity, and cardiovascular (CV) complications and lupus nephritis (LN) remain leading causes of morbidity and mortality. This study investigated whether omic profiling can reveal molecular endotypes linked to these outcomes.

Selective remodeling of cardiolipin fatty acids in the aged rat heart

open access: yesLipids in Health and Disease, 2006
Background The heart is rich in cardiolipin, a phospholipid acylated in four sites, predominately with linoleic acid. Whether or not aging alters the composition of cardiolipin acyl chains is controversial.
