The fatty acids of Euglena gracilis
The complete structures of 51 fatty acids of Euglena gracilis have been determined. These include saturated fatty acids from C9 to C19, monounsaturated fatty acids from C13 to C19, diunsaturated fatty acids from C15 to C20, tri-unsaturated fatty acids ...

Fetal growth restriction is associated with placental metabolic adaptations. In small‐for‐gestational‐age placenta (SGA), cholesterol receptors and steroidogenic enzymes are upregulated, enhancing steroidogenesis. NAD salvage pathway is also increased to support NADP+/NADPH requirements.

Using 1H NMR metabolomics, we measured polar and lipid metabolites from human blood neutrophils from people with frailty (n = 31, mean age 84Y), people with rheumatoid arthritis (n = 16, mean age 55Y), robust older (n = 24, mean age 66Y) and healthy younger people (n = 21, mean age 22Y).

Circadian disruption via constant light induces sex‐specific remodeling of the microbiome, lipid mediators, and immune responses. Females exhibit broader gut microbiota alterations, reduced jejunal oxylipins, increased hypothalamic N‐acylethanolamines, and a more inflammatory cytokine profile. Muscle responses are sex‐ and fiber type‐dependent: females

Background Omega‐3, a long‐chain fatty acid critical for brain structure and function, has been argued to be effective in reducing antisocial behavior, but findings are variable. This meta‐analysis examines 25 randomized controlled trials (RCTs) with a total of 2,889 participants. Methods This study was registered with PROSPERO (CRD42021256959).

Production of docosahexaenoic acid byThraustochytrium roseum
When three Thraustochytrium stains were cultivated in liquid media containing 2.5% starch and 0.2% yeast extract, initial pH 6.0, with shaking under fluorescent light for five days at 25 degrees C, similar biomass yields were observed (9.7-10.3 g L-1). Contents of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) in biomass varied: 0.15, 3.55 and 6.40% w/w for T.
