Memory T Follicular Helper CD4 T Cells [PDF]

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2015
T follicular helper (Tfh) cells are the subset of CD4 T helper cells that are required for generation and maintenance of germinal center reactions and the generation of long-lived humoral immunity. This specialized T helper subset provides help to cognate B cells via their expression of CD40 ligand, IL-21, IL-4, and other molecules.

T follicular helper cells and T follicular regulatory cells in autoimmune diseases

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2023
T follicular helper (Tfh) cells are heterogeneous and mainly characterized by expressing surface markers CXCR5, ICOS, and PD-1; cytokine IL-21; and transcription factor Bcl6. They are crucial for B-cell differentiation into long-lived plasma cells and high-affinity antibody production.

The Phenotype of Circulating Follicular-Helper T Cells in Patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis Defines CD200 as a Potential Therapeutic Target [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a systemic autoimmune disease primarily affecting synovial joints in which the development of autoantibodies represents a failure of normal tolerance mechanisms, suggesting a role for follicular helper T cells (TFH) in the ...

Follicular Helper T Cells in Autoimmunity

open access: yesCurrent Diabetes Reports, 2016
The development of multiple disease-relevant autoantibodies is a hallmark of autoimmune diseases. In autoimmune type 1 diabetes (T1D), a variable time frame of autoimmunity precedes the clinically overt disease. The relevance of T follicular helper (TFH) cells for the immune system is increasingly recognized.

The adaptor molecule CD2AP in CD4 T cells modulates differentiation of follicular helper T cells during chronic LCMV infection. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS Pathogens, 2018
CD4 T cell-mediated help to CD8 T cells and B cells is a critical arm of the adaptive immune system required for control of pathogen infection. CD4 T cells express cytokines and co-stimulatory molecules that support a sustained CD8 T cell response and ...

The function and origin of the CD4+ T cell in the classical Hodgkin lymphoma microenvironment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
PhDClassical Hodgkin lymphoma (CHL) is a germinal centre B cell malignancy where the bulk of the tumour comprises a non-clonal immune infiltrate enriched for CD4+ T cells.

T Follicular Helper Cell Coculture Assay

open access: yesBio-Protocol, 2014
T follicular helper (Tfh) cells constitute a distinct subset of CD4+ T cells specialized in providing help to B cells in germinal centers. Phenotypically, Tfh cells are characterized by their high expression of the chemokine receptor CXCR5 that allows ...

Follicular Helper T Cells in DiGeorge Syndrome [PDF]

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2018
DiGeorge syndrome is an immunodeficiency characterized by thymic dysplasia resulting in T cell lymphopenia. Most patients suffer from increased susceptibility to infections and heightened prevalence of autoimmune disorders, such as autoimmune thrombocytopenia. B cells in DiGeorge syndrome show impaired maturation, with low switched-memory B cells and a

Proinflammatory follicular helper T cells promote immunoglobulin G secretion, suppress regulatory B cell development, and correlate with worse clinical outcomes in gastric cancer

open access: yesTumor Biology, 2017
Gastric cancer is one of the most common and aggressive malignancies. Both bacterial virulence factors and host chronic inflammation are thought to promote gastric cancer development. In this study, we investigated the potential involvement of follicular
