Three hypotheses were tested in present studies: 1. that a threshold dose of fumonisin 3^ (FB-J hepatotoxicity and tumor promotion may be below 50 ppm in a short-term diethylnitrosamine (DEN) initiation/FB-. promotion model; 2. that modifying FBt with fructose may reduce or prevent hepatotoxicity and tumor promotion in rats; 3.

Production and Characterization of Antibodies against Fumonisin B1
Polyclonal antibodies against fumonisin B1 (FmB1) were produced in rabbits after immunizing the animals with either FmBl-keyhole limpet hemocyanin (KLH) or FmB1 bovine serum albumin (BSA). A direct competitive enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (dc-ELISA) and an indirect competitive ELISA (idc-ELISA) were used for the characterization of the antibodies ...

Safety of Rhizomucor pusillus biomass powder as a novel food pursuant to Regulation (EU) 2015/2283
Abstract Following a request from the European Commission, the EFSA Panel on Nutrition, Novel Foods and Food Allergens (NDA) was asked to deliver an opinion on the safety of the Rhizomucor pusillus biomass powder as a novel food (NF) pursuant to Regulation (EU) 2015/2283. The NF is a filamentous fungus biomass powder. The novel food is intended for use

Labeled Fumonisins: Production and Use of Fumonisin B1 Containing Stable Isotopes
Abstract Fumonisin B1 (FB1) labeled on the branch methyl groups with deuterium was produced in liquid cultures, and methyl-D3-labeled methionine was added. The isolated FB1 had 90% incorporation of 6 deuterium atoms and 9% incorporation of 3 deuterium atoms.
