Sustainable enzyme production from soyhull fermentation. ABSTRACT Carbohydrase enzymes are critical to sustainable detergent formulations, enabling effective cleaning at lower temperatures and reduced resource use. To improve the economic and environmental viability of enzyme production, this study explored soybean hulls—a low‐value agricultural by ...

Influence of Galactooligosaccharides on the Human Fecal Microflora.
The effects of galactooligosaccharides intake on fecal microflora and their metabolism were investigated in twelve healthy volunteers, in whom the numbers of indigenous bifidobacteria are comparatively low. The galactooligosaccharides ingestion increased the number of bifidobacteria, but remarkable changes of other organisms were not observed.

ABSTRACT Rationale Hemicelluloses are abundant carbohydrate components in plant cell walls. They play a crucial structural role in binding cellulose microfibrils, in addition to other biological functions. Their high structural variability directly influences their biological properties, making it important to establish a structure–function ...

Prebiotic properties and application of galactooligosaccharides
Galactooligosaccharides (GOS) are known prebiotics, they are produced in large volumes and used in the production of various foods. The purpose of the work was to systematize and analyze information on the classification, physiological effects and areas of application of GOS as prebiotics. The search was performed in the PubMed, Scopus, Elsevier, RSCI ...

Gut microbiota as a novel therapeutic target for eating disorders and obesity
The graphical abstract highlights the bidirectional interaction between the gut microbiota and central homeostatic and hedonic mechanisms regulating food intake, which contributes to overweight and obesity. It also illustrates emerging microbiota‐based biomarkers and therapeutic strategies (including prebiotics, probiotics, postbiotics, synbiotics and ...

ABSTRACT Background Metabolic syndrome (MetS) is a prevalent cardiometabolic disorder characterized by central obesity, insulin resistance, dyslipidemia, and hypertension. Microbiome‐targeted therapies with probiotics, prebiotics, and synbiotics may improve outcomes by modulating metabolism, inflammation, and blood pressure.
