The Concise Guide to PHARMACOLOGY 2025/26: G protein‐coupled receptors

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, Volume 182, Issue S1, Page S24-S151, December 2025.
The Concise Guide to Pharmacology 2025/26 marks the seventh edition in this series of biennial publications in the British Journal of Pharmacology. Presented in landscape format, the guide provides a comparative overview of the pharmacology of drug target families. The concise nature of the Concise Guide refers to the style of presentation, being clear,

Variation in Quantitative Resistance Components to the Fungus Pseudocercospora fijiensis Causing Black Leaf Streak Disease Among Banana Genotypes

open access: yesPlant Pathology, Volume 74, Issue 9, Page 2857-2879, December 2025.
We assessed the quantitative resistance components of different banana genotypes to the fungus Pseudocercospora fijiensis causing black leaf streak disease in field and controlled conditions. ABSTRACT Combining different components of quantitative resistance in new banana hybrids has potential for developing efficient and durable control of black leaf ...

Metabolic Reprogramming in Lung Cancer: Hallmarks, Mechanisms, and Targeted Strategies to Overcome Immune Resistance

open access: yesCancer Medicine, Volume 14, Issue 21, November 2025.
ABSTRACT Background Lung cancer remains the leading cause of cancer‐related mortality worldwide. Although immunotherapy has revolutionized lung cancer treatment, its efficacy is often hindered by primary and acquired immune resistance. Increasing evidence indicates that metabolic reprogramming plays a crucial role in tumor progression and the ...

HIF‐1 Targeting Intervention Renders Protection From Alzheimer's‐Like Pathology in a Humanized Mice Model of HIV Infection

open access: yesJournal of Extracellular Vesicles, Volume 14, Issue 11, November 2025.
This study explored the use of astrocyte‐derived extracellular vesicles (ADEVs) to deliver siRNA targeting HIF‐1α in HIV‐infected humanized mice, aiming to combat HIV‐associated Alzheimer's‐like pathology and associated synaptodegeneration. Intranasal delivery of these vesicles effectively reached key brain areas, reduced HIF‐1α expression, protected ...

Characterization of HIV‐1 Particles Co‐Purified With Three Extracellular Vesicle Subtypes From the Raji CD4 DCIR Cell Line, a Hybrid Model of CD4 T Cells and Dendritic Cells

open access: yesJournal of Extracellular Biology, Volume 4, Issue 11, November 2025.
The characterization of EVs and viruses co‐purified by differential centrifugation highlighted their diversity. The 3K pellet contained viruses with high infectivity, along with DAP‐3 and mitochondrial DNA enriched EVs. A lower infectivity was associated with the 17K pellet. The 17K EVs displayed ICAM‐1 and contained HSP70 and mitochondrial DNA.

Dendritic Cells: Origin, Classification, Development, Biological Functions, and Therapeutic Potential

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 6, Issue 11, November 2025.
This review systematically summarizes dendritic cells (DCs) originating from hematopoietic stem cells, their major subsets (cDC1s, cDC2s, pDCs, moDCs, LCs) and core functions (antigen capture/presentation, adaptive immunity activation, immune tolerance induction, and regulation of innate immune cells).
