Metabolic Regulation of Immune Responses: Molecular Mechanisms, Diseases, and Therapeutic Targets

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 6, June 2026.
FBP1 loss drives immune evasion and therapy resistance by enhancing glycolysis, STAT3 activation, and PD‐L1 expression, leading to T cell exhaustion and NK cell inhibition. FBP1 restoration, via LNP‐mRNA or epigenetic modulation, reverses these immunosuppressive effects, reactivates cytotoxic T cells, promotes M1 macrophage polarization, and enhances ...

Encephalopathy: Cause, Pathogenesis, and Treatment

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 6, June 2026.
Various encephalopathies (sepsis‐associated, hepatic, hypoxic–ischemic, diabetic, uremic, toxic) have incompletely elucidated pathogenesis, which severely restricts targeted therapy development. Small molecule drugs show unique multitarget potential but face toxicity, poor blood–brain barrier penetration and unclear specificity.

Stearoyl‐CoA Desaturase‐1 Drives Tumor Growth by Interacting With Histone Deacetylase‐2 and Deacetylating Nucleophosmin‐1

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 6, June 2026.
Hypoxia induces SCD1 and PLIN2 to drive lipid droplet‐dependent metabolic adaptation in cancer cells. PLIN2 supports survival under stress, whereas SCD1 promotes proliferation upon reoxygenation and remodels the acetylome via HDAC2‐mediated NPM1 deacetylation and destabilization.

Circadian Immunity and Vascular Inflammation in Cardiovascular Disease Chronotherapy Windows: Time for a Re‐Assessment

open access: yesMed Research, Volume 2, Issue 2, Page 236-279, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Circadian rhythms orchestrate cardiovascular physiology by regulating immune and inflammatory pathways. Disruption of these rhythms profoundly alters vascular homeostasis, thereby promoting the onset and progression of cardiovascular diseases (CVD).

X‐Linked Intellectual Developmental Disorder‐93 Caused by BRWD3 Mutation in Females: A Case Report and Literature Review

open access: yesMolecular Genetics &Genomic Medicine, Volume 14, Issue 6, June 2026.
A case of MRX93 in a 1‐year‐and‐3‐month‐old girl was reported, in whom a heterozygous deletion from exon 21 to exon 30 in the BRWD3 gene occurred. We conducted a literature review to explore the clinical phenotypes and genetic characteristics of MRX93 in females. ABSTRACT Objective To report the clinical manifestations and genetic diagnosis of a female

Peroxisomal Lipid Metabolism as a Therapeutic Target in Leukemia

open access: yesMolecular Nutrition &Food Research, Volume 70, Issue 11, 15 June 2026.
Peroxisomes are emerging as key regulators of lipid metabolism in leukemia. Enhanced metabolism of very‐long‐chain fatty acids (VLCFAs) supports leukemia cell survival, redox homeostasis, and therapeutic resistance. Pharmacologic disruption of peroxisomal fatty acid oxidation causes VLCFA accumulation, oxidative stress, and mitochondrial dysfunction ...

Oxidative Stress and DNA Epigenetic Modifications in Cancer: Mechanisms and Targeted Therapeutics

open access: yesMedComm – Oncology, Volume 5, Issue 2, June 2026.
Reactive oxygen species (ROS) modulate DNA methyltransferases (DNMTs), ten‐eleven translocation family proteins (TETs) and their cofactors, reshaping 5‐methylcytosine (5mC)/5‐hydroxymethylcytosine (5hmC)/5‐formylcytosine (5fC) landscapes and gene expression in cancer cells. In turn, epigenetic control of antioxidant and metabolic pathways feeds back on
