Tangle-tree duality: in graphs, matroids and beyond
We apply a recent duality theorem for tangles in abstract separation systems to derive tangle-type duality theorems for width-parameters in graphs and matroids. We further derive a duality theorem for the existence of clusters in large data sets.

Marital Investments and Community Involvement: A Test of Coser’s Greedy Marriage Thesis [PDF]
It is customary to test Coser’s greedy marriage thesis by comparing marital status groups. We propose a new approach that uses the marital dyad as the unit of analysis and examine whether investments in the marital relationship discourage community ...

Highlighting Interleukin-36 Signalling in Plaque Psoriasis and Pustular Psoriasis
Plaque psoriasis and pustular psoriasis are overlapping, but distinct, disorders. The therapeutic response to biologics supports the pivotal role of the tumour necrosis alpha (TNF-?)/ interleukin (IL)-23/IL-17/IL-22 axis in the pathogenesis of these ...

Higher Order Bias Correcting Moment Equation for M-Estimation and its Higher Order Efficiency [PDF]
This paper studies an alternative bias correction for the M-estimator, which is obtained by correcting the moment equation in the spirit of Firth (1993).

X- ray crystallography reveals the mechanism of SARS-CoV-2 PLpro dimerization mediated by a DNA-encoded library screening hit [PDF]
The COVID-19 pandemic caused by SARS-CoV-2 has devastated global health, revealing an urgent need for novel therapeutics. The papain-like protease (PLpro) is one of two proteases encoded by SARS-CoV-2, representing an attractive drug target due to its ...

Interleukin‐33 (IL‐33): A nuclear cytokine from the IL‐1 family
Interleukin‐33 (IL‐33) is a tissue‐derived nuclear cytokine from the IL‐1 family abundantly expressed in endothelial cells, epithelial cells and fibroblast‐like cells, both during homeostasis and inflammation.

Radiative Transfer Model of Dust Attenuation Curves in Clumpy, Galactic Environments
The attenuation of starlight by dust in galactic environments is investigated through models of radiative transfer in a spherical, clumpy ISM. Extinction properties for MW, LMC, and SMC dust types are considered.
