Influenza A Virus PA Antagonizes Interferon-β by Interacting with Interferon Regulatory Factor 3 [PDF]

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2017
The influenza A virus (IAV) can be recognized by retinoic acid-inducible gene I (RIG-I) to activate the type I interferon response and induce antiviral effects.

HSPD1 interacts with IRF3 to facilitate interferon-beta induction. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2014
The production of IFN- I (IFN-α/β) is one of the earliest and most important host-protective responses. Interferon regulatory factor 3 (IRF3) is a critical transcriptional factor in the IFN-β signaling pathway.

Synthetic Toll-Like Receptors for Control of Innate Immunity With Far-Red Light. [PDF]

open access: yesAdv Sci (Weinh)
Synthetic Toll‐like receptors (TLRs) are engineered by replacing their natural sensing regions with a far‐red‐light‐responsive module from a bacterial phytochrome. These synthetic receptors enable light‐controlled regulation of immune signaling in mammalian cells.

Transcriptional and Non-Transcriptional Activation, Posttranslational Modifications, and Antiviral Functions of Interferon Regulatory Factor 3 and Viral Antagonism by the SARS-Coronavirus

open access: yesViruses, 2021
The immune system defends against invading pathogens through the rapid activation of innate immune signaling pathways. Interferon regulatory factor 3 (IRF3) is a key transcription factor activated in response to virus infection and is largely responsible

Pseudorabies Virus US3 Protein Inhibits IFN-β Production by Interacting With IRF3 to Block Its Activation

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2021
Pseudorabies virus is a typical swine alphaherpesvirus, which can cause obvious neurological disorders and reproductive failure in pigs. It is capable of evading host antiviral immune response. However, the mechanism by which many PRV proteins assist the

TOB1 attenuates IRF3-directed antiviral responses by recruiting HDAC8 to specifically suppress IFN-β expression

open access: yesCommunications Biology, 2022
TOB1 is identified as an interferon regulatory factor 3 (IRF3) binding partner that operates as a negative feedback inhibitor of IFNβ in toll-like receptor and cytosolic nucleic acid receptor sensing pathways.

Mapping of human interferon regulatory factor 3 (IRF3) to chromosome 19q13.3–13.4 by an intragenic polymorphic marker [PDF]

open access: yesAnnals of Human Genetics, 1998
We have identified a highly polymorphic intragenic marker composed of two dinucleotide repeats in an intron of the human interferon regulatory factor (IRF3) gene. This polymorphic marker has allowed us to map IRF3 to the boundary of 19q13.3–13.4 between the polymorphic markers D19S604 and D19S206 close to KLK1.

Human OTUD6B positively regulates type I IFN antiviral innate immune responses by deubiquitinating and stabilizing IRF3

open access: yesmBio, 2023
Elaborate regulation of innate immunity is necessary for the host to effectively respond to invading pathogens. As an important component of antiviral immunity transcription factors, the stability and activity of interferon (IFN) regulatory factor 3 ...

Staphylococcus aureus Induces IFN-β Production via a CARMA3-Independent Mechanism

open access: yesPathogens, 2021
Type I interferon (IFN) induction is a critical component of innate immune response to viral and bacterial infection, including S. aureus, but whether it activates the signaling in macrophages and the regulation mechanisms is less well understood.

Optineurin regulates the interferon response in a cell cycle-dependent manner. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS Pathogens, 2015
Viral invasion into a host is initially recognized by the innate immune system, mainly through activation of the intracellular cytosolic signaling pathway and coordinated activation of interferon regulatory factor 3 (IRF3) and nuclear factor kappa B (NF ...
