The reaction of dehydroabiethylamine (DHA) with isocyanides and formaldehyde produces varying products depending on the conditions employed. In a 4-component Ugi reaction using benzyl isocyanide, paraformaldehyde, and TMS-azide, the anticipated tetrazole

Enantiospecific Optical Sensing of Terpenes by an Aggregated Atropisomeric Platinum(II) Complex
Aggregated metal complexes act as an artificial nose and permit reversible optical sensing of small volatile molecules like R/S‐limonene based on enantiospecific recognition. Abstract Terpenes are unfunctionalized small volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that are naturally abundant, relevant to climate change, and impose potential health risks.

Incorporation of CO into substrates to construct high‐value carbonyl compounds is an intensive industrial carbonylation procedure, however, high toxicity and wide explosion limits (12.5–74.0 vol% in air) of CO limit its application in industrial ...

2D Rhodium‐Isocyanide Frameworks
Abstract2D metal‐organic frameworks (2D MOFs) are emerging organic van der Waals materials with great potential in various applications owing to their structural diversity, and tunable optoelectronic properties. So far, most reported 2D MOFs rely on metal‐heteroatom coordination (e.g., metal–nitrogen, metal–oxygen, and metal–sulfur); synthesis of metal‐

Imidazolium salts are privileged compounds in organic chemistry, and have valuable biological properties. Recent studies show that symmetric imidazolium salts with bulky moieties can display antiparasitic activity against T. cruzi.

This review summarizes recent advances in copper‐ and silver‐catalyzed reactions of active methylene isocyanides for the synthesis of highly substituted five‐ and six‐membered heterocycles. Emphasis is placed on [3+n] cycloadditions, annulations, and asymmetric strategies, highlighting current limitations and future opportunities in heterocycle ...

Three-Component Reactions of 3-Arylidene-3H-Indolium Salts, Isocyanides and Amines
A multicomponent reaction of isocyanides with aryl(indol-3-yl)methylium salts and amines has been found. A series of aryl(indol-3-yl)acetimidamides was obtained in up to 96% yields.

Identification of Natural Isonitriles Through Ligation to an Azomethine Imine Probe
The azomethine imine (AMI)–isonitrile (NC) ligation allowed for the chemoselective detection of natural isonitriles in bacteria and fungi. The reactivity‐based screening establishes a new stereogenic center, thereby allowing for facile distinction between chiral and achiral isonitriles. The work also unraveled a unique reactivity of isonitriles bearing

Alkyl Bismuth Cations: Synthesis, Characterization, and Application as Z‐Type Ligands
Rare examples of alkyl bismuth cations [BiR2(SbF6)] are presented, including cyclopropyl ligands and a bismacyclic structure. The bismuth‐centered Lewis acids act as Z‐type ligands toward the electron‐rich platinum atom in [Pt(PCy3)2], generating a set of metal‐only Lewis pairs. The structural and spectroscopic properties of these rare types of bismuth
