Association of Neurodevelopmental Disorders and Congenital Anomalies With Prenatal Multiple Sclerosis Treatment—Real‐World Historical Cohort Study

open access: yesClinical Pharmacology &Therapeutics, Volume 119, Issue 6, Page 1565-1573, June 2026.
There is a paucity of data regarding the effects of prenatal disease‐modifying therapies (DMTs) for multiple sclerosis (MS), on congenital anomalies in the offspring. Moreover, data on the association with neurodevelopmental disorders are lacking. This is an historical cohort study, within the Israeli Clalit Health Services database (2005–2024) that ...

Quantification and Localisation of New Brain Lipid Synthesis Using Deuterium Oxide and High Resolution Mass Spectrometry

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 138, Issue 18, 27 April 2026.
Liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry and mass spectrometry imaging were used in combination with deuterium oxide administration to quantify and localise newly synthesised myelin lipids in the mouse brain. This methodology, used here to show sites of myelin repair, enables the measurement of dynamic lipid synthesis in living systems and ...

Effects of Lysophospholipids on Tumor Microenvironment [PDF]

open access: yesCancer Microenvironment, 2011
The effects of lysophospholipids (LPLs) on cancer microenvironment is a vast and growing field. These lipids are secreted physiologically by various cell types. They play highly important roles in the development, activation and regulation of the immune system. They are also secreted by cancerous cells and there is a strong association between LPLs and

Inhibition of PLA2G15 Alleviates Palmitic Acid‐Induced Lysosomal Membrane Permeabilization in Human Nucleus Pulposus Cells During Intervertebral Disc Degeneration

open access: yesJOR SPINE, Volume 9, Issue 2, June 2026.
LMP is responsible for lysosomal dysfunction in IDD. The lipid composition changes in the lysosomal membrane, mediated by PLA2G15, are the cause of LMP. The C/EBPα significantly promotes PLA2G15 expression under PA overload stress. Inhibition of PLA2G15 alleviates PA‐induced LMP by inhibiting the hydrolysis of lysosomal membrane phospholipids. ABSTRACT

The Role of Lysophospholipid Metabolites LPC and LPA in the Pathogenesis of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease

open access: yesMetabolites
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a heterogeneous lung condition characterized by persistent respiratory symptoms and airflow limitation. While there are some available treatment options, the effectiveness of treatment varies depending on ...

High-grade ovarian serous carcinoma patients exhibit profound alterations in lipid metabolism [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Ovarian cancer is a very severe type of disease with poor prognosis. Treatment of ovarian cancer is challenging because of the lack of tests for early detection and effective therapeutic targets.

Distinct Roles of Myeloid‐ and Hepatocyte‐PLA2G6 Deletion in Mice With Metabolic Dysfunction‐Associated Steatotic Liver Disease

open access: yesLiver International, Volume 46, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims Polymorphisms of group VIA calcium‐independent phospholipase A2 (iPLA2β or PLA2G6) are associated with Type‐2 diabetes, blood lipids and inflammation. Global deficiency in iPLA2β‐null mice elicited protection against hepatic steatosis but not hepatic inflammation after high‐fat diet (HFD) feeding.

Understanding the Mechanism of Translocation of Adenylate Cyclase Toxin across Biological Membranes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Adenylate cyclase toxin (ACT) is one of the principal virulence factors secreted by the whooping cough causative bacterium Bordetella pertussis, and it has a critical role in colonization of the respiratory tract and establishment of the disease.

Lipidome Analysis of Cancer Cells and Their Extracellular Vesicles Reveals Cancer‐Type‐Specific Lipid Signatures and Enables the Design of EV‐Mimetic Liposomes

open access: yesJournal of Extracellular Vesicles, Volume 15, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Lipid metabolism reprogramming is a hallmark of cancer, yet the global lipidome of cancer cells and their extracellular vesicles (EVs) remains poorly understood. Using mass spectrometry, we analyzed the lipid profiles of a panel of human cancer and non‐cancer cell lines along with their secreted EVs.
