CEACAM1 participation in breast cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In invasive breast cancer (BC), CEACAM1 shifts from an apical to a uniform membranous/cytoplasmic pattern, or is lost, as tumors dedifferentiate, inversely tracking the Ki‐67 proliferative index. In MCF‐7 cells, only CEACAM1‐4L suppresses proliferation, repressing cell cycle and growth factor genes.

Spatial biology in cancer epigenetics

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Spatial epigenomics combines molecular profiling with tissue architecture to reveal how gene regulation is organized within intact tissues. In cancer, these technologies uncover the mechanisms driving tumor heterogeneity and microenvironmental interactions, opening new opportunities for biomarker discovery and precision medicine.

Predictive and prognostic biomarkers of Bacillus Calmette‐Guérin therapy failure in bladder cancer patients: A systematic review

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
High‐risk bladder cancer is typically treated with Bacillus Calmette‐Guérin (BCG), but 30–40% of patients relapse. No FDA‐ or CE‐approved biomarkers currently predict or prognosticate BCG failure. We systematically reviewed the literature and identified 72 eligible studies, revealing several promising biomarkers associated with BCG treatment response ...

When threats become catalysts: cognitive job crafting, work meaningfulness, and employee proactivity in high-insecurity contexts

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology
Drawing on Conservation of Resources (COR) theory, this study examined how cognitive job crafting stimulated employee innovation behavior and organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) through work meaningfulness, and how job insecurity moderated these ...

Bridging the gap: a genetically validated avian chorioallantoic membrane platform for investigation of spontaneous circulating tumor cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We established the avian chorioallantoic membrane (CAM) assay as a scalable in vivo model for studying circulating tumor cells (CTCs). Human gastrointestinal tumors spontaneously released genetically validated CTCs that were detected across multiple platforms, demonstrating that the CAM model provides an accessible tool for investigating early cancer ...

The effect of occupational meaningfulness on occupational commitment

open access: yesInternational Journal of Psychological Research, 2013
Existing research lacks a scholarly consensus on how to define and validly measure ‘meaningful work’ (e.g., Rosso, Dekas & Wrzesniewski, 2010). The following correlational study highlights the value of investigating meaningfulness in the context of ...

Extracellular matrix remodeling and immune reprogramming drive residual tumor progression of liver cancer after incomplete microwave ablation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Incomplete microwave ablation (iMWA) of liver cancer triggers a biphasic progression in residual tumors. At Day 3, the microenvironment is characterized by acute inflammatory responses and extracellular matrix (ECM) remodeling. By Day 14, a profound shift occurs toward oncogenic signal transduction and immunosuppression, marked by macrophage ...
