AbstractPossible conformations of lacto‐N‐tetraose, lacto‐N‐neotetraose, related disaccharides, and other milk oligosaccharides have been studied by an energy‐minimization procedure using empirical potential functions. Lacto‐N‐tetraose favors a “curved” conformation, while lacto‐N‐neotetraose favors an approximately “straight” conformation.
