Changes in nuclear and cytoplasmic microRNA distribution in response to hypoxic stress [PDF]
MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are small non-coding RNAs that have well-characterized roles in cytoplasmic gene regulation, where they act by binding to mRNA transcripts and inhibiting their translation (i.e. post-transcriptional gene silencing, PTGS).

During homeostasis, CCL22 is secreted by dendritic cells (DC), which mediate contacts between regulatory T cells (Treg) and DC to maintain immune balance. Activation of innate immunity via microbes or pattern recognition receptor (PRR) agonists induces the secretion of several soluble factors (e.g., type I and II interferons, IL‐10), which mediate ...

Elevated miR‐210‐3p expression was diagnostic for diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN) and served as an independent risk factor for DPN. miR‐210‐3p functioned by negatively regulating BDNF, and its inhibitor reversed hyperglycemia‐induced Schwann cell dysfunction, whereas BDNF knockdown eliminated this protective effect.

Implication of microRNAs as messengers of exercise adaptation in junior female triathlonists
While expression profile of muscle-specific miRNAs following endurance training is well-characterized, information about exercise-induced changes of metabolism-regulating miRNAs is limited, especially in female and junior athletes.

We previously found that 19 microRNAs (miRNAs) significantly increased in the sera of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients. Here, we evaluated whether these miRNAs were secreted by HCC cells and contributed to tumor angiogenesis. High level of miR-210-

Human Cyclophilins—An Emerging Class of Drug Targets
ABSTRACT Cyclophilins are a family of enzymes with peptidyl‐prolyl isomerase activity found in all cells of all organisms. To date, 17 cyclophilin isoforms have been identified in the human body, participating in diverse biological processes. Consequently, cyclophilins have emerged as promising targets for drug development to address a wide array of ...

Identification of Differently Expressed miRNAs and Genes between Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia and Prostate Cancer [PDF]
Objective MicroRNAs (miRNAs) play important roles in various diseases’ development and progression. The aim of this study is to identify the differently expressed miRNAs (DEmiRNAs) and differently expressed genes (DEGs) between BPH and PCa.

Local Anesthetics in Cancer: Mechanisms and Translational Perspectives
Local anesthetics demonstrate multifaceted antitumor effects that collectively contribute to cancer suppression. Beyond canonical sodium channel blockade, these agents exert the following pharmacological actions: inhibition of tumor cell proliferation, suppression of migration and invasion, induction of proapoptotic pathways, attenuation of ...
