Mitochondria as a Potential Regulator of Myogenesis
Recent studies have shown that mitochondria play a role in the regulation of myogenesis. Indeed, the abundance, morphology, and functional properties of mitochondria become altered when the myoblasts differentiate into myotubes.

Skeletal muscle: a significant novel neurohypophyseal hormone-secreting organ [PDF]
Vasopressin (arg8-vasopressin) and oxytocin are closely relalated hormones, synthesized as pre-hormones in the magnocellular neurons of the paraventricular Q6 and supraoptic nuclei of the hypothalamus.

A guide to the types, structures, and multifaceted functions of matrix metalloproteinases in cancer
Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) orchestrate cancer progression and metastasis through proteolytic and non‐proteolytic actions. By remodeling the tumor microenvironment, enhancing growth factor availability, and modulating cell behavior, MMPs promote proliferation, migration or invasion, and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition. Alongside extracellular

Culture conditions influence satellite cell activation and survival of single myofibers [PDF]
Single myofiber isolation protocols allow to obtain an in vitro system in which the physical association between the myofiber and its stem cells, the satellite cells, is adequately preserved.

Alpha‐crystallin B chain (CRYAB) has been reported to stabilize mothers against decapentaplegic homolog 4 (SMAD4) in transforming growth factor‐β (TGF‐β) signaling, enabling target gene transcription. We show nuclear CRYAB–SMAD4 interaction for the first time in human skeletal muscle fibers and its regulation by exercise.

myomiR-dependent switching of BAF60 variant incorporation into Brg1 chromatin remodeling complexes during embryo myogenesis [PDF]
Myogenesis involves the stable commitment of progenitor cells followed by the execution of myogenic differentiation, processes that are coordinated by myogenic regulatory factors, microRNAs and BAF chromatin remodeling complexes.

Exercise‐related microRNAs cel‐miR‐249‐3p and cel‐miR‐77‐5p in C. elegans regulate lifespan, fitness, mitochondrial morphology and membrane potential. Although lacking direct mammalian orthologs, H2O2‐induced microRNAs mmu‐miR‐181a‐5p and mmu‐miR‐378a‐3p regulate myogenesis, autophagy, mitochondrial content and respiration in murine myoblasts ...

Genomic Analysis of Inbreeding Depression on Productive Traits in Rubia Galega Beef Cattle Breed
ABSTRACT In autochthonous livestock breeds with small populations, such as the Rubia Galega from Galicia (Spain), mating between relatives is common and can lead to inbreeding depression. Genomic inbreeding coefficients were estimated for 4984 animals using ~63,000 SNPs to assess inbreeding depression in four key traits: age at first calving (AFC) with
