Covalent CDK7 Inhibitor THZ1 Inhibits Myogenic Differentiation [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Cancer, 2018
Covalent CDK7 inhibitor THZ1 is a newly discovered anti-tumor drug.THZ1 affects the function of transcription factor TFIIH by inhibiting CDK7, which in turn affects RNA polymerase II, and ultimately affects transcription initiation. Study found that THZ1 could inhibit proliferation and promote apoptosis of several tumor cell lines. However, there is no

SMAD2 Promotes Myogenin Expression and Terminal Myogenic Differentiation [PDF]

open access: yesDevelopment, 2020
ABSTRACTSMAD2 is a transcription factor whose activity is regulated by members of the Transforming Growth Factor beta (TGFβ) superfamily. While activation of SMAD2 and SMAD3 downstream of TGFβ or myostatin signaling is known to inhibit myogenesis, we find that SMAD2 in the absence of TGFβ signaling promotes terminal myogenic differentiation.

The Effect of Heat Shock on Myogenic Differentiation of Human Skeletal-Muscle-Derived Mesenchymal Stem/Stromal Cells

open access: yesCells, 2022
Muscle injuries, degenerative diseases and other lesions negatively affect functioning of human skeletomuscular system and thus quality of life. Therefore, the investigation of molecular mechanisms, stimulating myogenic differentiation of primary ...

Zeb2 Regulates Myogenic Differentiation in Pluripotent Stem Cells [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Molecular Sciences, 2020
Skeletal muscle differentiation is triggered by a unique family of myogenic basic helix-loop-helix transcription factors, including MyoD, MRF-4, Myf-5, and Myogenin. These transcription factors bind promoters and distant regulatory regions, including E-box elements, of genes whose expression is restricted to muscle cells.

Thioredoxin mitigates H2O2‐induced inhibition of myogenic differentiation of rat bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells by enhancing AKT activation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, 2020
Thioredoxin (Trx) is a hydrogen acceptor of ribonucleotide reductase and a regulator of some enzymes and receptors. It has been previously shown that significantly elevated levels of Trx expression are associated with the osteogenic differentiation of ...

Geranylgeraniol-induced Myogenic Differentiation of C2C12 Cells [PDF]

open access: yesIn Vivo, 2018
Geranylgeraniol (GGOH) is a C20 isoprenoid found in fruits, vegetables, and grains, including rice. As a food substance, GGOH is categorized as 'Generally Recognized as Safe'. GGOH is an intermediate product in the mevalonate pathway and acts as a precursor to geranylgeranyl pyrophosphate.C2C12 mouse myoblasts derived from muscle satellite cells were ...

The matricellular protein ADAMTS-like 2 regulates differentiation of skeletal muscle-resident fibro-adipogenic progenitor cells

open access: yesiScience
Summary: Skeletal muscle development and regeneration requires the activities of myogenic and non-myogenic muscle stem cell populations. Non-myogenic muscle stem cells, such as fibro-adipogenic progenitors (FAPs), play important roles in muscle ...

Decrease in the expression of muscle-specific miRNAs, miR-133a and miR-1, in myoblasts with replicative senescence.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2023
Muscles that are injured or atrophied by aging undergo myogenic regeneration. Although myoblasts play a pivotal role in myogenic regeneration, their function is impaired with aging. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are also involved in myogenic regeneration.

The Aging Blood: Cellular Origins, Circulating Drivers, and Therapeutic Potential

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
As a conduit linking all organs, the blood system both reflects and actively drives systemic aging. This review highlights how circulating pro‐aging and antiaging factors and age‐associated hematopoietic stem cell dysfunction contribute to immunosenescence and multi‐organ decline, positioning the hematopoietic system as a target for aging intervention.

Schwann Cells Promote Myogenic Differentiation of Myoblasts and Adipogenic Mesenchymal Stromal Cells on Poly-ɛ-Caprolactone-Collagen I-Nanofibers

open access: yesCells, 2022
For the purpose of skeletal muscle tissue engineering, different cell types have been investigated regarding their myogenic differentiation potential, including co-cultured myoblasts and adipogenic mesenchymal stromal cells (Mb/ADSC).
