Esrrb Complementation Rescues Development of Nanog-Null Germ Cells

open access: yesCell Reports, 2018
Summary: The transcription factors (TFs) Nanog and Esrrb play important roles in embryonic stem cells (ESCs) and during primordial germ-cell (PGC) development.

Mechanoadaptation via Myosin Cytoplasmic Redistribution Protects Circulating Tumor Cells From Shear‐induced Death During Hematogenous Dissemination

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study investigates how CTCs survive varying shear stress during hematogenous metastasis. We uncover a self‐protection mechanism, by which non‐adherent CTCs adapt to high shearing milieu through accumulated cytoplasmic myosin‐mediated disruption of myosin‐actin binding, attenuating force transmission into chromatin to protect CTCs from shear ...

A sister of NANOG regulates genes expressed in pre-implantation human development [PDF]

open access: yesOpen Biology, 2017
The NANOG homeobox gene plays a pivotal role in self-renewal and maintenance of pluripotency in human, mouse and other vertebrate embryonic stem cells, and in pluripotent cells of the blastocyst inner cell mass.

Consequences of simulated microgravity in neural stem cells: biological effects and metabolic response. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Objective: Microgravity was often shown to cause cell damage and impair cell cycle in a variety of biological systems. Since the effects on the neural system were poorly investigated, we aimed to gain insight into how biological processes such as cell ...

Molecular Characterization of the Human NANOG Protein [PDF]

open access: yesStem Cells, 2009
Abstract NANOG is a key transcriptional regulator of pluripotent stem cell (PSC) self-renewal. NANOG occupies promoters that are active and others that are repressed during self-renewal; however, the mechanisms by which NANOG regulates transcriptional repression and activation are unknown.

DTX3L Inhibits the EMT, Metastasis, and Stem‐Like Features of Gastric Cancer Through Promoting GSK‐3β Dependent SNAI1 Decay

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This research identifies DTX3L as a critical tumor suppressor that inhibits epithelial‐mesenchymal transition (EMT), invasion and metastasis in gastric cancer. By functioning as an E3 ubiquitin ligase, DTX3L targets the master EMT regulator SNAI1 for GSK‐3β‐dependent proteasomal degradation.

Generation of a human iPS cell line from a patient with retinitis pigmentosa due to EYS mutation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Retinitis pigmentosa (RP) is an inherited retinal degenerative disease. Mutations in EYS have been associated with autosomal recessive RP. The human iPS cell line, CABi002-A, derived from peripheral blood mononuclear cells from a patient carrying a ...

Characterization of the porcine Nanog 5’-flanking region [PDF]

open access: yesAsian-Australasian Journal of Animal Sciences, 2018
Nanog, a homeodomain protein, has been investigated in humans and mice using embryonic stem cells (ESCs). Because of the limited availability of ESCs, few studies have reported the function and role of Nanog in porcine ESCs. Therefore, in this study, we investigated the location of the porcine Nanog chromosome and its basal promoter activity, which ...

Aptamer‐Directed Porous DNA Nanocomposite Hydrogel for Active Pulp Preservation: Immunomodulation, Stem Cell Recruitment and Reparative Dentinogenesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents an injectable DNA‐based porous hydrogel integrating catechol motifs and targeting aptamers for pulpitis management. Upon in situ crosslinking, the scaffold actively recruits endogenous dental pulp stem cells, restores redox homeostasis, and modulates immune responses.

Proteome Profiling of Breast Tumors by Gel Electrophoresis and Nanoscale Electrospray Ionization Mass Spectrometry [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
We have conducted proteome-wide analysis of fresh surgery specimens derived from breast cancer patients, using an approach that integrates size-based intact protein fractionation, nanoscale liquid separation of peptides, electrospray ion trap mass ...
