Protein kinase CK2 is widely expressed in follicular, Burkitt and diffuse large B-cell lymphomas and propels malignant B-cell growth. [PDF]
Serine-threonine kinase CK2 is highly expressed and pivotal for survival and proliferation in multiple myeloma, chronic lymphocytic leukemia and mantle cell lymphoma.

Wavefunction corrections and off-forward gluon distributions in diffractive J/psi electroproduction
Diffractive production of J/Psi particles by virtual photons on a proton target is studied with a view towards understanding two important corrections to the leading order result.

Initial State Dependence of the Breakup of Weakly Bound Carbon Isotopes [PDF]
The one-neutron nuclear breakup from the Carbon isotopes $^{19}$C and $^{17}$C, is calculated as an example of application of the theory of transfer to the continuum reactions in the formulation which includes spin coupling.

Structure-Guided Control of siRNA Off-Target Effects [PDF]
Short interfering RNAs (siRNAs) are promising therapeutics that make use of the RNA interference (RNAi) pathway, but liabilities arising from the native RNA structure necessitate chemical modification for drug development. Advances in the structural characterization of components of the human RNAi pathway have enabled structure-guided optimization of ...

Oncogenesis: An “Off-Target” Effect of Radiofrequency Ablation [PDF]
To compare hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) development after radiofrequency (RF) ablation, partial surgical hepatectomy, and a sham operation and to inhibit HCC recurrence after RF ablation in a mouse model of spontaneously forming HCC in the setting of chronic inflammation (ie, the MDR2 knockout model).Animal experiments were performed according to an ...

Collins effect and single spin azimuthal asymmetries in the HERMES and COMPASS experiments
Predictions are made for single spin azimuthal asymmetries due to the Collins effect in pion production from semi-inclusive deeply inelastic scattering off transversely and longitudinally polarized targets for the HERMES and COMPASS experiments.

Genome editing is a promising therapeutic strategy for genetic disorders by modifying the genome precisely, especially the CRISPR/Cas9 system. However, a major limitation of CRISPR/Cas9 in gene therapy is the biosafety issues caused by off-target effects.

Off-Target Cannabinoid Effects Mediated by GPR55 [PDF]
Given the vast therapeutic potential of the endocannabinoid system, the revelation of a novel cannabinoid-sensitive target was treated with great excitement. The orphan G-protein coupled receptor 55 (GPR55) was initially touted as a novel cannabinoid target in early industrial patent literature.

Translation of CRISPR Genome Surgery to the Bedside for Retinal Diseases
In recent years, there has been accelerated growth of clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats (CRISPR) genome surgery techniques. Genome surgery holds promise for diseases for which a cure currently does not exist.

Using gene transfer to circumvent off-target effects [PDF]
Many recombinant growth factors have failed in clinical trials due to off-target effects. We describe a method for circumventing off-target effects that involves equipping cells with a conditionally active signaling protein that can be specifically activated by an exogenously administered synthetic ligand.
