Progenitor Timing Shapes NG2‐Glia Fate and Oligodendrocyte Differentiation

open access: yesGlia, Volume 74, Issue 11, November 2026.
Developmental timing defines NG2‐glia and oligodendrocyte fate. E16 NG2‐progenitors produce large, more dispersed NG2‐glia clones. P0 progenitors show a bias toward oligodendrocyte differentiation. Temporal windows establish long‐term cortical glial heterogeneity.

Glial Dysfunction and Memory Impairments in a Model of Pediatric Obstructive Sleep Apnea

open access: yesGlia, Volume 74, Issue 11, November 2026.
Generation and analysis of an snRNA‐seq atlas of the hippocampus in POSA. Validation of reduced protein expression of six genes across four cell types. Cellular‐level investigation of aberrant glial function in POSA using transgenic reporter mice. ABSTRACT Pediatric obstructive sleep apnea (POSA) is a common childhood disease that often causes aberrant

The Role of Astrocytes in the Inflammatory Response in Neurodiseases

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 11, November 2026.
Reactive astrocyte‐mediated pathogenic mechanisms in neurodegenerative diseases Schematic representation of key astrocytic pathways contributing to pathology in the pathogenesis of AD, PD, ALS, and HD. In AD, astrocytes exhibit Aβ plaque‐associated activation characterized by GFAP/S100β upregulation, accompanied by impaired EAAT2‐mediated glutamate ...

Multiple Sclerosis and Viruses: « Liaisons Dangereuses »

open access: yesReviews in Medical Virology, Volume 36, Issue 6, November 2026.
ABSTRACT Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a complex, multifactorial neurodegenerative disease with an aetiology that is still partially elusive. Several risk factors are associated with MS development including genetic predisposition and various environmental stressors; however, recently, viral infections have gained significant attention as a crucial ...

Major Depressive Disorder With Non‐Suicidal Self‐Injury in Adolescents: Altered Morphological Inverse Divergence Gradient in Brain Structure and Gene Expression Patterns

open access: yesHuman Brain Mapping, Volume 47, Issue 15, October 15, 2026.
Using the morphometric inverse divergence gradient network (MIND‐Gd), this study shows that adolescents with major depressive disorder (MDD) and non‐suicidal self‐injury (NSSI) exhibit altered principal structural gradients relative to adolescents with MDD without NSSI, and that these gradient changes are spatially coupled to neurotransmitter receptor ...
