Abstract Boundary Delay Systems and Application to Network Flow

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, Volume 49, Issue 1, Page 119-129, 15 January 2026.
ABSTRACT This paper investigates the well‐posedness and positivity of solutions to a class of delayed transport equations on a network. The material flow is delayed at the vertices and along the edges. The problem is reformulated as an abstract boundary delay equation, and well‐posedness is proved by using the Staffans–Weiss theory.

Das Trautonium: Des kleinen Elektromusikers Liebling

open access: yesPhysik in unserer Zeit, Volume 56, Issue 5, Page 244-245, September 2025.

Experiencing enjoyment in visual programming tasks promotes self‐efficacy and reduces the gender gap

open access: yesBritish Journal of Educational Technology, Volume 56, Issue 3, Page 1231-1247, May 2025.
Abstract Secondary school students (N = 269) participated in a daylong visual programming course held in a stimulating environment for start‐up enterprises. The tasks were application‐oriented and partly creative. For example, a wearable device with light‐emitting diodes, (ie, LEDs) could be applied to a T‐shirt and used for optical messages.

The role of momentary emotions in promoting error learning orientation among lower secondary school students: An intervention study embedded in a short visual programming course

open access: yesBritish Journal of Educational Psychology, Volume 95, Issue 1, Page 107-123, March 2025.
Abstract Background Students make many errors in visual programming. In order to learn from these, it is important that students regulate their emotions and view errors as learning opportunities. Aims This study aimed to explore to what extent momentary emotions, specifically enjoyment, anxiety and boredom, as well as the error learning orientation of ...

Learning with multiple external representations in physics: Concreteness fading versus simultaneous presentation

open access: yesJournal of Research in Science Teaching, Volume 61, Issue 9, Page 2258-2290, November 2024.
Abstract Multiple external representations (MERs) are useful for teaching complex content in science education. An open question is whether there is an especially effective way to sequence MERs. On the one hand, the so‐called concreteness fading approach suggests starting instruction with more concrete representations and proceeding stepwise to more ...
