Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Lipids and Lipid Metabolism, 1987Oxidation of Fe2+ in solution was dependent upon medium composition and the presence of lipid. The complete oxidation of Fe2+ in 0.9% saline was markedly accelerated in the presence of phosphate or EDTA and the ferrous oxidation product formed was readily recoverable as Fe2+ by ascorbate reduction.

Ascorbic Acid Oxidation and Lipid Peroxidation in Milk
Journal of Food Science, 1962SUMMARY Ascorbic acid oxidation was studied in relation to the natural copper level and to lipid peroxidation in milks produced by cows receiving alfalfa bay or pasture. Correlations were highly significant (r = 0.79**) between ascorbic acid oxidation rate and natural copper for both alfalfa and pasture milks.

Inhibition of oxidative hemolysis and lipid peroxidation by mepacrine.
Journal of biochemistry, 1981Mepacrine at 50 microM completely protected vitamin E-deficient rat erythrocytes from peroxidative hemolysis induced by dialuric acid or reduced glutathione under the standard experimental conditions. Malondialdehyde formation, which precedes the hemolysis, was also inhibited by mepacrine.
