Mental health measures among adolescents in 12 low‐ and middle‐income countries: Measurement invariance and cross‐sectional analyses of Disrupting Harm survey data

open access: yesJCPP Advances, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Nationally representative mental health data in adolescents from low‐ and middle‐income countries (LMICs) are scarce. This study aimed to examine mental health and wellbeing indicators amongst adolescents in 12 LMICs across Eastern and Southern Africa and Southeast Asia. Methods We conducted a secondary analysis of data involving 12,

Anti-PML-RARα shRNA sensitises promyelocytic leukaemia cells to all-trans retinoic acid

open access: yes, 2012
The PML-RARα fusion gene disrupts the retinoic acid differentiation signal in a range of leukaemia types, promoting proliferation. We designed a shRNA to target the fusion mRNA, and the shRNA expression cassette was delivered via lentiviral transduction.

Efficient First‐Principles Inverse Design of Nanolasers

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
This article introduces a first‐principles inverse‐design framework for nanolasers that directly incorporates nonlinear lasing physics. By unifying steady‐state ab‐initio laser theory (SALT) with topology optimization, it reveals how spatial hole burning, gain saturation, and cavity‐emitter coupling shape laser performance, enabling efficient discovery

Optical Skyrmions with Tunable or Reconfigurable Topology Using Spin‐Decoupled Metaoptics

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
The work introduces advanced optical elements capable of generating and dynamically reconfiguring complex light patterns known as optical skyrmions. By precisely shaping light polarization at the nanoscale, a single engineered metasurface can generate and manipulate robust and tunable polarization textures in an efficient and scalable way.

Rigorous Electromagnetic Quasinormal‐Mode Method Made Easy for Users

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
We present a method that combines numerical techniques with accurate approximations to enable simple and ultrafast computations of the scattered field based on quasinormal modes expansions. The method is made available in the open‐source package MANlite implemented within COMSOL.

Responsive Phase Gradient Metasurface for Laser Stealth and Dynamic Thermal Camouflage

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
The graphical abstract depicts a phase‐gradient metasurface enabling directional scattering and emissivity‐controlled thermal radiation. The engineered phase profile redistributes the reflected optical momentum, suppressing specular reflection and generating non‐specular scattering.

PML Ib primarily localizes to the cytoplasm and influences the localization of nuclear PML isoforms.

open access: yes, 2013
(A) Immunolocalization of PML Ib. PML +/+ PML −/−, and B1041-1 mouse fibroblast cell lines transfected with a human PML Ib/pcDNA3.1 construct were immunostained with PG-M3 to determine the intracellular localization of PML Ib by confocal (PML+/+) and ...

Revealing the Resonant Physics of Open Photonic Time Crystals

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Photonic time crystals (PTCs) are media whose permittivity is modulated periodically in time, enabling momentum bandgaps and parametric amplification of light. Their realization at the nanoscale can revolutionize the study of light‐matter interactions.
