ObjectiveMyocardial ischemia/reperfusion injury (IRI) is a common and serious complication in clinical practice. Sevoflurane conditionings have been identified to provide a protection against myocardial IRI in animal experiments, but their true clinical ...

Spherical Lignin‐Derived Hard Carbon Anode for Sodium‐Ion Batteries
Low‐cost alkali lignin is converted into spherical hard carbon through controlled carbonization, accompanied by tunable pore formation and carbon‐structure evolution. The optimized hard carbon anode delivers high sodium‐storage capacity and remarkable long‐term stability, retaining 80.45% capacity after 1600 cycles at 500 mA g−1.

Statement inversion and strongest postcondition
The paper presents the notion of inverse commands for a language permitting both demonic and angelic nondeterminism as well as miracles and nontermination within the general framework of Dijkstra's weakest precondition calculus. By incorporating different types of nondeterminism into the calculus, it may be applied even to non-executable program ...

Effect of pre/postconditioning at temporary clipping [PDF]
Intracranial aneurysms and their treatment is one of the leading problems of neurosurgery that create high mortality and morbidity. The technique of safe clipping is as generally used depends on the temporary occlusion of the cerebral vasculature during surgery.

Objective There is growing evidence that knee osteoarthritis (OA), a significant source of chronic pain, is only partly explained by joint pathophysiology, varies significantly between individuals and may be partly driven by changes in periarticular tissues.

Delayed hypoxic postconditioning protects against cerebral ischemia in the mouse.
International audienceBACKGROUND AND PURPOSE: Inspired from preconditioning studies, ischemic postconditioning, consisting of the application of intermittent interruptions of blood flow shortly after reperfusion, has been described in cardiac ischemia ...

H/R injury downregulates miR‑548a‑5p and upregulates its direct target PTEN in H9c2 cardiomyocytes, triggering reduced cell viability, elevated apoptosis, oxidative stress and myocardial injury marker release. 1.0% isoflurane (ISO) pretreatment reverses these pathological alterations by elevating miR‑548a‑5p and repressing PTEN.

Cellular localization of LC3 and Beclin 1 after postconditioning.
(A) Cellular localization of LC3 after postconditioning. (B) Cellular localization of Beclin 1 after postconditioning. Rats were fixed with 4% PFA, dehydrated in alcohol, and the brain sections of the ipsilateral hemisphere were double-labeled with the ...

Local and Remote Postconditioning Decrease Intestinal Injury in a Rabbit Ischemia/Reperfusion Model
Intestinal ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury is a significant problem that is associated with high morbidity and mortality in critical settings. This injury may be ameliorated using postconditioning protocol.
