Catechol‐o‐methyltransferase (COMT) and proline dehydrogenase (PRODH) mRNAs in the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex in schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and major depression

open access: yesSynapse, 2003
AbstractCatechol‐o‐methyltransferase (COMT) and proline dehydrogenase (PRODH) may both be susceptibility genes for schizophrenia. As part of the evaluation of their roles in psychosis, we used reverse transcription–polymerase chain reaction to measure COMT and PRODH mRNAs in the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex in schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, major ...

Exogenous Proline Alleviated Low Temperature Stress in Maize Embryos by Optimizing Seed Germination, Inner Proline Metabolism, Respiratory Metabolism and a Hormone Regulation Mechanism

open access: yesAgriculture, 2022
Proline (Pro) is not only an important osmotic adjustment substance, but it also plays an important role in regulating plant abiotic stress resistance. The maize varieties, Xinxin 2 (low temperature insensitive) and Damin 3307 (low temperature sensitive),

Computational insights on the hydride and proton transfer mechanisms of L-proline dehydrogenase.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2023
L-Proline dehydrogenase (ProDH) is a flavin-dependent oxidoreductase, which catalyzes the oxidation of L-proline to (S)-1-pyrroline-5-carboxylate. Based on the experimental studies, a stepwise proton and hydride transfer mechanism is supported. According

Comparative mapping of the 22q11.2 deletion region and the potential of simple model organisms. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
BACKGROUND: 22q11.2 deletion syndrome (22q11.2DS) is the most common micro-deletion syndrome. The associated 22q11.2 deletion conveys the strongest known molecular risk for schizophrenia.

Functional Impact of the N-terminal Arm of Proline Dehydrogenase from Thermus thermophilus

open access: yesMolecules, 2018
Proline dehydrogenase (ProDH) is a ubiquitous flavoenzyme that catalyzes the oxidation of proline to Δ1-pyrroline-5-carboxylate. Thermus thermophilus ProDH (TtProDH) contains in addition to its flavin-binding domain an N-terminal arm, consisting of ...

Linking early-life NMDAR hypofunction and oxidative stress in schizophrenia pathogenesis. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Molecular, genetic and pathological evidence suggests that deficits in GABAergic parvalbumin-positive interneurons contribute to schizophrenia pathophysiology through alterations in the brain's excitation-inhibition balance that result in impaired ...

Treg cells retain stable lineage commitment during pregnancy in mice after late gestation inflammatory challenge

open access: yesImmunology &Cell Biology, Volume 104, Issue 3, Page 276-311, March 2026.
In this study, we used Foxp3‐fatemapping mice to examine the cell lineage stability of Treg cells in pregnancy. Ex‐Foxp3 cells were identified in gestational tissues. However, Treg cells retained lineage stability with no increased ex‐Foxp3 generation, regardless of inflammatory challenges that induce preterm birth.

Effects of Sowing Date and Nitrogen (N) Application Rate on Grain Yield, Nitrogen Use Efficiency and 2-Acetyl-1-Pyrroline Formation in Fragrant Rice

open access: yesAgronomy, 2022
Purpose: This study aimed to assess the effects of the sowing date and nitrogen application rate on the grain yield, nitrogen use efficiency (NUE), 2-acetyl-△1-pyrroline (2-AP) contents and biochemical parameters related to 2-AP formation in fragrant ...
