Purification and properties of ribonuclease III from Escherichia coli.

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1968
A nuclease with specificity for double-stranded RNA (RNase III) has been found in extracts of Escherichia coli. It remains within osmotically shocked cells attached to the ribosomes.

Biocomputational Characterization and Evolutionary Analysis of Bubaline Dicer1 Enzyme [PDF]

open access: yesAsian-Australasian Journal of Animal Sciences, 2015
Dicer, an ribonuclease type III type endonuclease, is the key enzyme involved in biogenesis of microRNAs (miRNAs) and small interfering RNAs (siRNAs), and thus plays a critical role in RNA interference through post transcriptional regulation of gene ...

Ancestral protein reconstruction reveals evolutionary events governing variation in Dicer helicase function

open access: yeseLife, 2023
Antiviral defense in ecdysozoan invertebrates requires Dicer with a helicase domain capable of ATP hydrolysis. But despite well-conserved ATPase motifs, human Dicer is incapable of ATP hydrolysis, consistent with a muted role in antiviral defense.

Structural characterization of a ribonuclease III processing signal [PDF]

open access: yesNucleic Acids Research, 1994
The structure of a ribonuclease III processing signal from bacteriophage T7 was examined by NMR spectroscopy, optical melting, and chemical and enzymatic modification. A 41 nucleotide variant of the T7 R1.1 processing signal has two Watson-Crick base-paired helices separated by an internal loop, consistent with its predicted secondary structure.

Two tandem RNase III cleavage sites determine betT mRNA stability in response to osmotic stress in Escherichia coli. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2014
While identifying genes regulated by ribonuclease III (RNase III) in Escherichia coli, we observed that steady-state levels of betT mRNA, which encodes a transporter mediating the influx of choline, are dependent on cellular concentrations of RNase III ...

Characterization of the biochemical properties of recombinant ribonuclease III [PDF]

open access: yesNucleic Acids Research, 1990
An Escherichia coli double strand specific endoribonuclease, RNase III, was cloned, expressed in large amounts, and purified to homogeneity. Enzyme activity was monitored by assaying fractions for the ability to correctly process exogenous RNA containing specific RNase III cleavage sites.

Preliminary studies on ribonucleases from Poa pratensis seeds

open access: yesActa Societatis Botanicorum Poloniae, 2015
Ribonuclease was extracted from Poa pratensis seeds with 0.1 M acetate buffer, pH 5.1, and then precipitated with alcohol. The enzyme was separated into 5 fractions (I-V) after chromatography on DEAE-cellulose at pH 5.1.
