CIRBP Stabilizes Slc7a11 mRNA to Sustain the SLC7A11/GPX4 Antioxidant Axis and Limit Ferroptosis in Doxorubicin-Induced Cardiotoxicity

open access: yesAntioxidants
Doxorubicin-induced cardiotoxicity (DIC) significantly constrains the clinical efficacy of anthracycline chemotherapy, primarily through the induction of ferroptosis, an iron-dependent, regulated cell death driven by oxidative stress and lipid peroxidation. However, the upstream regulators of ferroptosis in DIC remain incompletely defined.

Cuproptosis‐Related Genes in Immune Infiltration and Diagnosis in Hepatitis B Virus‐Related Acute Liver Failure

open access: yesExploration, EarlyView.
The role of cuproptosis in HBV‐ALF was explored via bioinformatics and liver biopsy tissues. There are some crosstalks among cuproptosis, immune infiltration, and ferroptosis (The figure was created by Bio Render). ABSTRACT Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection poses a significant challenge to global health, particularly in developing countries such as ...

SLC7A11 is a potential therapeutic target and prognostic biomarker correlated with immune cell infiltration in cervical cancer

open access: yesDiscover Oncology
Background SLC7A11 is importantly in both ferroptosis and disulfidptosis which participated in human development and homeostasis. By utilizing bioinformatics and in vitro validation, we explored SLC7A11's role in cervical cancer.

Pharmacological effects of gastrodin: Insight into neurological diseases and mechanism in ferroptosis and pyroptosis

open access: yesIbrain, Volume 11, Issue 1, Page 74-83, Spring 2025.
Pharmacological effects of gastrodin include prevention and treatment of cognitive decline and reperfusion injuries, anticonvulsion, antiepilepsy, antidepressants, and analgesia, which are related to antiferroptosis and antipyroptosis. Abstract Gastrodin, as an effective monomer of gastrodia elata, plays a significant role in anti‐inflammatory ...

Blocking SLC7A11 attenuates the proliferation of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma cells

open access: yesAnimal Cells and Systems
The role of ferroptosis-associated gene SLC7A11 in esophageal cancer progression is largely unknown, therefore, the effects of blocking SLC7A11 on esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) cells are evaluated.

Amino acid transporter SLC7A11/xCT at the crossroads of regulating redox homeostasis and nutrient dependency of cancer

open access: yesCancer Communications, 2018
Cancer cells often upregulate nutrient transporters to fulfill their increased biosynthetic and bioenergetic needs, and to maintain redox homeostasis. One nutrient transporter frequently overexpressed in human cancers is the cystine/glutamate antiporter ...

LPCAT2 inhibits colorectal cancer progression via the PRMT1/SLC7A11 axis

open access: yesOncogene
AbstractColorectal cancer (CRC) has a high degree of heterogeneity and identifying the genetic information of individual tumor cells could help enhance our understanding of tumor biology and uncover potential therapeutic targets for CRC. In this study, we identified LPCAT2+ tumor cell populations with less malignancy than LPCAT2- tumor cells in human ...

Peri‐implant hypoxia as a potential barrier against ferroptotic mechanisms during peri‐implant diseases: A cross‐sectional study

open access: yesJournal of Periodontology, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Hypoxia modulates inflammation and oxidative stress through hypoxia‐inducible factor‐1α (HIF‐1α). Ferroptosis, an iron‐dependent cell death process, is regulated by glutathione peroxidase‐4 (GPX4) and involves lipid peroxidation markers like malondialdehyde (MDA).
