Tanshinone IIA destabilizes SLC7A11 by regulating PIAS4-mediated SUMOylation of SLC7A11 through KDM1A, and promotes ferroptosis in breast cancer

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Research
Breast cancer (BC) is the most common malignancy in women with unfavorite prognosis.Tanshinone IIA (Tan IIA) inhibits BC progression, however, the underlying mechanism remains largely undefined. The cytotoxicity of Tan IIA was assessed by CCK-8 and LDH assays. Ferroptosis was monitored by the level of MDA, Fe2+, lipid ROS and GSH.

MiR-93-5p inhibits ovarian cancer through SLC7A11-mediated-ferroptosis

open access: yes
Aim: Ovarian cancer (OC) is the most lethal gynecological malignancy, which seriously affects the prognosis and life quality of female patients. Therefore, new therapeutic targets and treatments are urgently needed.

RBM12 Maintains Glioma Stem Cells by Activating Amino Acid‐Dependent mTORC1 Signaling via SLC7A5 mRNA Stabilization

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study shows that in glioma stem cells (GSCs), RBM12 recruits ALKBH5 to remove m6A from SLC7A5 transcripts, thereby enhancing mRNA stability, which elevates large neutral amino acid (LNAA) levels and activates mTORC1, promoting GSC proliferation, self‐renewal, and tumor growth.

SLC7A11 protects amoeboid-disseminating cancer cells from oxidative stress [PDF]

open access: yes
Oxidative stress limits metastasis, and amoeboid cancer cells have been identified in a variety of cancers as a subset of metastatic cancer cells characterized by high Rho-ROCK-driven Myosin II activity.

Analysis of DNA methylation associates the cystine–glutamate antiporter SLC7A11 with risk of Parkinson’s disease

open access: yes, 2020
An improved understanding of etiological mechanisms in Parkinson’s disease (PD) is urgently needed because the number of affected individuals is projected to increase rapidly as populations age.

REGγ Suppresses Ferroptosis and Induces Drug Resistance by Degrading WDR6 in Chondrosarcoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Here, we identified REGγ as a susceptibility factor in chondrosarcoma. Our study demonstrates that abnormally activated REGγ‐20S proteasome promotes chondrosarcoma development and progression. Further validation in animal models revealed that blocking REGγ function induced ferroptosis, suppressed malignant progression of chondrosarcoma, and uncovered a

Slc44a2 Deficiency Unveils an IFN‐I–Dependent Feedback Control of pDC Egress

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Working model of SLC44A2‐mediated maintenance of pDC homeostasis. This model illustrates two central mechanisms by which SLC44A2 regulates pDC homeostasis: (1) SLC44A2 limits IFN‐I production by exporting amino acids (T, N, Q), thereby preventing spontaneous pDC activation.

Ursolic Acid Alleviates Orchitis via Modulating Ferroptosis in Peritubular Myoid Cells of Testis

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
Ursolic acid modulates key ferroptosis‐related pathways in the peritubular myoid cells of the testis in forest musk deer. ABSTRACT Chronic stress adversely affects reproductive health, increasing susceptibility to pathologies such as orchitis. Additionally, the maintenance of iron homeostasis is essential for preserving the function of the testicles ...
