Inhibition of Focal Adhesion Restricts Chemoresistance in Pancreatic Cancer by Targeting SLC7A11 Mediated Ferroptosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
FAK signaling drives chemoresistance and tumor evolution in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma. The FAK inhibitor IN10018 restores gemcitabine sensitivity by inducing SLC7A11‐mediated ferroptosis through the PI3K‐Akt pathway and remodeling the tumor microenvironment, reducing mesenchymal components while enhancing CD8+ T‐cell infiltration in preclinical ...

SLC7A11-associated ferroptosis in acute injury diseases: mechanisms and strategies.

open access: yesEuropean review for medical and pharmacological sciences, 2023
Ferroptosis is a kind of iron-dependent renewal programmed death. Its main mechanism is to catalyze the unsaturated fatty acids highly expressed on the cell membrane under the effect of divalent iron, to produce lipid peroxidation, thus inducing cell death. SLC7A11 is a known iron death-related factor.

Dual‐Network Protein Hydrogels Promote Rapid Hemostasis and Immune‐Regulated Scarless Tissue Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A dual‐network protein hydrogel substantially improves hemostasis and scar‐free healing. The adaptive network maintains intimate tissue contact while providing strong wet adhesion, tunable mechanics, and controlled degradation. Concurrent ROS scavenging and M2 polarization suppress fibrotic pathways, preventing scar formation.

SLC7A11 in Fibrosis: Molecular Mechanisms and Future Prospects

open access: yesaging and disease
Solute carrier family 7 member 11 (SLC7A11), or xCT, is a cystine-glutamate antiporter crucial for maintaining cellular antioxidant capacity through the uptake of cystine, which is vital for glutathione synthesis. This protein plays an important role in regulating ferroptosis, an iron-dependent form of cell death.

T Cell‐Independent Role of PD‐L1 in Kidney Repair: Mitigation of Tubular DNA Damage via PD‐L1/BRCA1 Interaction Following AKI

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
PD‐L1 is primarily expressed in renal tubules and upregulated in both murine models of AKI and renal biopsy samples from patients with AKI. PD‐L1 can promote adaptive TECs repair through interacting with BRCA1, independent of its canonical immunomodulatory function of T cells, and PD‐L1 supplementation may represent a promising therapeutic strategy for

Hsa_circ_0070440 promotes lung adenocarcinoma progression by SLC7A11-mediated-ferroptosis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
Background. Circular RNA (circRNA) has recently emerged as having a key role in cancer initiation and progression. A prior study exhibited that hsa_circ_0070440 (circ_0070440) was significantly upregulated in lung cancer cells, but the role and molecular

“Membrane‐Guided” Repair Strategy: Precision Delivery of GGT1 Degrader for Targeted Repair and Regeneration of Spinal Cord Neurons

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study confirms that GGT1 is a key driver of neuronal ferroptosis following spinal cord injury. We developed NSCm@EA, a biomimetic delivery system coated with neural stem cell membranes, for precise delivery of enocyanin to injured neurons. By combining targeted delivery with ubiquitination degradation mechanisms, this system promotes MGRN1 ...

Increased Slc7a11 expression in the lungs (male) following hyperoxia exposure.

open access: yes, 2014
8A: Western blot assay for Slc7a11 expression in lungs following hyperoxia exposure. Twenty µg of whole lung protein from male animals at room air and exposed to 48 h of hyperoxia was subjected to western blotting using antibodies against Slc7a11.

PIEZO1 is Required for Acute Myeloid Leukemia Progression and Leukemia Stem Cell Maintenance via HIF1A‐SLC7A11 Axis‐Mediated Ferroptosis Defense

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies the mechanosensor PIEZO1 as a key factor in promoting acute myeloid leukemia progression and uncovers a ferroptosis defense system mediated by PIEZO1‐HIF1A‐SLC7A11 axis that is essential for leukemia stem cell maintenance. This ferroptotic defense system may represent a unique vulnerability for leukemia stem cells, providing a ...
