Factors affecting SOCE activation in mammalian skeletal muscle fibers

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiological Sciences, 2009
Enzymatically dissociated mouse FDB muscle fibers, loaded with Fura-2 AM, were used to study the effect of mitochondrial uncoupling on the capacitative Ca(2+) entry, SOCE. Sarcoplasmic reticulum (SR) Ca(2+) stores were depleted by repetitive exposures to high K(+) or 4-chloro-m-Cresol (4-CmC) in the absence of extracellular Ca(2+).

Potential Arrhythmogenic Role of TRPC Channels and Store-Operated Calcium Entry Mechanism in Mouse Ventricular Myocytes

open access: yesFrontiers in Physiology, 2018
Background and Purpose: Store-operated calcium entry (SOCE) is an important physiological phenomenon that extensively mediates intracellular calcium ion (Ca2+) load. It has been previously found in myocytes isolated from neonatal or diseased hearts.

Store-operated Ca2+ entry plays a role in HMGB1-induced vascular endothelial cell hyperpermeability.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2015
AimsEndothelial dysfunction, including increased endothelial permeability, is considered an early marker for atherosclerosis. High-mobility group box 1 protein (HMGB1) and extracellular Ca2+ entry, primarily mediated through store-operated Ca2+ entry ...

Discovery and development of small molecules targeting IDO1 and SOCE

open access: yes, 2021
My PhD thesis is focused on two main projects: the discovery of Store-Operated Calcium Entry (SOCE) modulators and the development of indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase-1 (IDO1) inhibitors. SOCE is a specialized form of calcium influx across the plasma membrane that is induced by the depletion of this ion in the endoplasmic reticulum.

NODES_Inndiana_D14_RM4_Biphenyl Amides as Dual-Targeting SOCE/DHODH Inhibitors

open access: yes
The patent application titled “Biphenyl Amides as Dual-Targeting SOCE/DHODH Inhibitors” (No. 102024000024384) describes novel biphenyl amides that can simultaneously modulate Store-Operated Calcium Entry (SOCE) and human dihydroorotate dehydrogenase (hDHODH) for the treatment of autoimmune, inflammatory, and chronic degenerative diseases, as well as ...
