Nonsingular Terminal Sliding Mode Control for Vehicular Platoon Systems with Measurement Delays and Noise

open access: yesComputation
Platooning of vehicular systems has been considered an effective solution for alleviating traffic congestion and reducing energy consumption. Because of limitations in onboard sensors, the measurement system inevitably suffers from measurement delays and

Efficient Screening of Organic Singlet Fission Molecules Using Graph Neural Networks

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A high‐throughput screening framework based on graph neural networks (GNNs) and multi‐level validation facilitates the identification of singlet fission (SF) candidates. By efficiently predicting excitation energies across 20 million molecules, and integrating TDDFT calculations, synthetic accessibility assessments, and GW+BSE calculations, this ...

On the stability of electroweak strings

open access: yes, 1992
We map the parameter space that leads to stable Z-vortices in the electroweak model. For $sin~2 \theta_W = 0.23$, we find that the strings are unstable for a Higgs mass larger than 24 GeV. Given the latest constraints on the Higgs mass from LEP, this shows that, if the standard electroweak model is realized in Nature, the Z-vortex (in the bare model ...

Carbon Interlayer with Uniformly Anchored ZnO Nanoparticles: Surface‐Energy‐Driven Coble Creep for Practical Anode‐Free Solid‐State Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We used a zinc oxide–carbon composite interlayer (ZnO@C) via the electron‐beam (e‐beam) irradiation method to fabricate a cost‐effective, high‐energy‐density, anode‐free solid‐state battery. Chemical anchoring between the ZnO and carbon enabled uniform nanoscale morphology, mitigating the high surface energy of the ZnO NPs.

A Non‐Canonical Role of SMAD4 in Regulating 3D Genome Architecture to Inhibit Lung Squamous Cell Carcinoma Development

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
SMAD4 is identified as a guardian of 3D genome architecture in lung squamous cell carcinoma. Loss of SMAD4 unleashes EP300 at chromatin loop anchors, strengthening enhancer–promoter looping and H3K27ac at the SOX2 locus to drive aberrant SOX2 activation and tumor cell proliferation.

Automated Extraction of Multicomponent Alloy Data Using Large Language Models for Sustainable Design

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A large language model (LLM) based pipeline is developed to automatically extract a comprehensive and accurate multicomponent alloy database from literature corpus. The extracted dataset is integrated with sustainability indicators to identify potential alloys that outperform existing industrial benchmark materials in terms of both performance and ...

PDIA6–SCD1 Axis Rewires Lipid Metabolism to Drive Gastric Cancer Progression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Protein disulfide isomerase A6 (PDIA6) is identified as an oncogenic driver in gastric cancer. PDIA6 directly binds and stabilizes SCD1 by limiting its ubiquitin–proteasome‐mediated degradation, thereby sustaining monounsaturated fatty acid (MUFA)‐enriched lipid homeostasis and lipid metabolic reprogramming.

LSTM-Predicted Sliding Mode Control for String-Stable Vehicle Platooning in Mixed Traffic Flow

open access: yesVehicles
To address the issues of slow response to preceding vehicles and poor string stability in distributed platoon control of connected and autonomous vehicles (CAVs) under mixed traffic flow, this paper proposes a sliding mode control method based on LSTM ...
