CONSERVED FUNCTIONAL DOMAINS OF THE RNA-POLYMERASE-III GENERAL TRANSCRIPTION FACTOR BRF

open access: yes, 1994
In Saccharomyces cerevisiae, two components of the RNA polymerase III (Pol III) general transcription factor TFIIIB are the TATA-binding protein (TBP) and the B-related factor (BRF), so called because its amino-terminal half is homologous to the Pol II ...

A motif unique to the human DEAD-box protein DDX3 is important for nucleic acid binding, ATP hydrolysis, RNA/DNA unwinding and HIV-1 replication

open access: yes, 2011
DEAD-box proteins are enzymes endowed with nucleic acid-dependent ATPase, RNA translocase and unwinding activities. The human DEAD-box protein DDX3 has been shown to play important roles in tumor proliferation and viral infections.

Efficient binding of NC2.TATA-binding protein to DNA in the absence of TATA.

open access: yes, 2005
Negative cofactor 2 (NC2) forms a stable complex with TATA-binding protein (TBP) on promoters. This prevents the assembly of transcription factor (TF) IIA and TFIIB and leads to repression of RNA polymerase II transcription.

CRISPR/Cas9-mediated generation of AP-1 activity reporter cell line in human embryonic stem cell (WAe007-A-5)

open access: yesStem Cell Research
Activator protein 1 (AP-1) is involved in cell fate determination and function. To monitor the AP-1 activity, we cloned a AP-1 binding sites fragment into the upstream of minimal TATA-box promoter, then a luciferase-GFP reporter (LuciGFP) was designated ...

Generation of a Monoclonal Antibody Specifically Reacting with Neuron-specific TATA-Box Binding Protein-Associated Factor 1 (N-TAF1)

open access: yesAntibodies, 2012
TATA-box binding protein-associated factor 1 (TAF1), the largest subunit of the transcription factor IID complex, plays an important role in the RNA polymerase II-mediated gene transcription pathway regulating the transcription of a large number of genes

Promoter Analysis of the Drosophila Genes Encoding TFIIB and TATA Box-binding Protein

open access: yesMolecules and Cells, 1998
We have analyzed the 5'-flanking regions of the Drosophila genes encoding the TFIIB and TATA box-binding proteins (TBP) and mapped the regulatory regions required for their efficient expression. We found that the 500 bp long region (-439 to +60) and the 401 bp long region (-261 to +138) are required for the efficient expression of TFIIB and TBP genes ...

The Lipid Droplet–Associated Hydrolase Is Associated With Obesity and Adipose Tissue Inflammation in Children

open access: yesObesity, Volume 34, Issue 7, Page 1420-1432, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Objective The lipid droplet–associated hydrolase (LDAH) is a lipid droplet–associated protein with an uncharacterized role in human adipose tissue (AT) and obesity; we aimed to investigate its role in human AT and its relevance for childhood obesity.

Genome‐wide analysis of DNA methyltransferases in a model extremophyte, Schrenkiella parvula: Transcriptional dynamics during development and under salt stress

open access: yesAnnals of Applied Biology, Volume 189, Issue 1, July 2026.
Classification of DMTs into 4 subfamilies: two METs, three CMTs, three DRMs, and one DNMT2. The cis‐elements are associated with stress‐response, hormonal regulation, light‐response, and development. RNA‐seq analysis revealed differential expression of DMTs under NaCl stress.

Expression and nuclear localization of the TATA-box-binding protein during baculovirus infection

open access: yesJournal of General Virology, 2014
The TATA-box-binding protein (TBP) plays a key role in initiating eukaryotic transcription and is used by many viruses for viral transcription. We previously reported increased TBP levels during infection with the baculovirus Autographa californica multicapsid nuclear polyhedrovirus (AcMNPV). The TBP antiserum used in that study, however, cross-reacted

The Transcription Factor OsWRKY64 Interacts With OsART1 to Positively Regulate Al Resistance in Rice

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, Volume 24, Issue 7, Page 4656-4671, July 2026.
A proposed working model illustrating the cooperative regulation of Al tolerance by OsWRKY64 and OsART1 in rice. Under Al stress conditions in acidic soil, the transcription factor OsART1 directly binds to the promoter of OsWRKY64 to activate its transcription. The synthesized OsWRKY64 protein then physically interacts with OsART1 in the nucleus.
