Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

Managing the impact of machine translation on the quality of the translation of the technical texts from English into the Serbian language [PDF]

open access: yesBaština, 2019
The use of Internet machine translators is a common and frequent practice in everyday life, as one of the most accessible and at the same time the easiest way to translate technical literature and other variety of texts.

AAA+ protein unfoldases—the Moirai of the proteome

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
AAA+ unfoldases are essential molecular motors that power protein degradation and disaggregation. This review integrates recent cryo‐electron microscopy (cryo‐EM) structures and single‐molecule biophysical data to reconcile competing models of substrate translocation.

LoLa: a modular ontology of logics, languages and translations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The Distributed Ontology Language (DOL), currently being standardised within the OntoIOp (Ontology Integration and Interoperability) activity of ISO/TC 37/SC 3, aims at providing a unified framework for (i) ontologies formalised in heterogeneous logics, (

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Teaching Technical Translation in the Digital Era: Challenges and Expectations

open access: yesRomanian Journal of English Studies
Several seminar studies explain the importance of technical translation today, as 90% of the global market of translations is represented by technical translations (Kingscott 2002:247).

An approach to user-centered translation quality assessment of machine translation output : the case of DeepL, Google Translate, and ChatGPT in Czech-to-Spanish translation outputs

open access: yesÉtudes romanes de Brno
The widespread use of free Neural Machine Translation (NMT) systems requires a greater effort on the part of the scientific community to evaluate their quality.

Contextual bitext-derived paraphrases in automatic MT evaluation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
In this paper we present a novel method for deriving paraphrases during automatic MT evaluation using only the source and reference texts, which are necessary for the evaluation, and word and phrase alignment software.
