Immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI) therapy has been successfully applied to various cancers; however, not all patients respond to ICI therapy. Tumors with an immune‐activated environment are highly responsive to ICIs.

Tumor vascular remodeling is discussed from a chemokine‐centered perspective. This review summarizes the bidirectional, temporal, and tissue‐specific roles of CXC chemokines in regulating vascular function and immune accessibility. A functional vascular normalization score is introduced as a conceptual framework to integrate dynamic vascular and immune

In advanced colorectal cancer, tumors with mature tertiary lymphoid structures (TLS) exhibited abundant infiltration of CD3‐ and CD8‐positive lymphocytes in both primary and metastatic sites, indicating an activated immune response. The presence of mature TLS was also associated with favorable chemotherapy sensitivity and improved prognosis.

Characterisation and prognostic value of tertiary lymphoid structures in oral squamous cell carcinoma [PDF]
BACKGROUND: Oral squamous cell carcinomas are often heavily infiltrated by immune cells. The organization of B-cells, follicular dendritic cells, T-cells and high-endothelial venules into structures termed tertiary lymphoid structures have been detected ...

Summary The immune responses during the initiation and invasion stages of human lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) development are largely unknown. Here, we generated a single-cell RNA sequencing map to decipher the immune dynamics during human LUAD development.

This review explains how biomaterials and nanoparticles can be used to induce or modulate tertiary lymphoid structures (TLSs), which are ectopic immune hubs that form in nonlymphoid tissues during chronic disease and cancer. By comparing different methods, the article highlights design principles for modeling TLSs or recapitulating specific TLS ...

Review: radiotherapy-mediated B cells within the TLS influence the tumor microenvironment
The tumor microenvironment (TME) is a diverse and intricate structure consisting of tumor cells, stromal cells, endothelial cells, and immune cells. It is characterized by the communication between tumor cells and both innate and adaptive immune cells ...
