Structural requirements of steroidal agonists of transient receptor potential melastatin 3 (TRPM3) cation channels [PDF]
Background and PurposeTransient receptor potential melastatin 3 (TRPM3) proteins form non‐selective but calcium‐permeable membrane channels, rapidly activated by extracellular application of the steroid pregnenolone sulphate and the dihydropyridine nifedipine.

3-Iodothyronamine, a Novel Endogenous Modulator of Transient Receptor Potential Melastatin 8? [PDF]
The decarboxylated and deiodinated thyroid hormone (TH) derivative, 3-iodothyronamine (3-T1AM), is suggested to be involved in energy metabolism and thermoregulation.

Control of Insulin Release by Transient Receptor Potential Melastatin 3 (TRPM3) Ion Channels
The release of insulin in response to increased levels of glucose in the blood strongly depends on Ca2+ influx into pancreatic beta cells by the opening of voltage-gated Ca2+ channels. Transient Receptor Potential Melastatin 3 proteins build Ca2+ permeable, non-selective cation channels serving as pain sensors of noxious heat in the peripheral nervous ...

Transient receptor potential melastatin 3 is a phosphoinositide-dependent ion channel. [PDF]
Phosphoinositides are emerging as general regulators of the functionally diverse transient receptor potential (TRP) ion channel family. Phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate (PI(4,5)P2) has been reported to positively regulate many TRP channels, but in several cases phosphoinositide regulation is controversial.

The Compound Terminalia Chebula Extract Alleviates PEDV-Induced Colonic Injury in Suckling Piglets by Enhancing Antioxidant Capacity, Suppressing Inflammation, Restoring Intestinal Function, and Inhibiting Viral Replication [PDF]
The protective effect of Compound terminalia chebula extract (HL) against colonic injury induced by Porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV) infection in neonatal piglets remains unclear.

Promiscuous G-Protein-Coupled Receptor Inhibition of Transient Receptor Potential Melastatin 3 Ion Channels by Gβγ Subunits. [PDF]
Transient receptor potential melastatin 3 (TRPM3) is a nonselective cation channel that is inhibited by Gβγ subunits liberated following activation of Gαi/oprotein-coupled receptors. Here, we demonstrate that TRPM3 channels are also inhibited by Gβγ released from Gαsand Gαq.

A279 EVIDENCE OF TRANSIENT RECEPTOR POTENTIAL MELASTATIN 3 (TRPM3) CHANNEL SENSITIZATION IN A MOUSE MODEL OF COLITIS [PDF]
Abstract Background Abdominal pain is a primary symptom of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Opioids provide relief from IBD-associated pain, but they are addictive and associated with excess mortality in IBD patients. Thus, there is a need to develop novel therapeutics for IBD-associated pain.

Activation of gene transcription via CIM0216, a synthetic ligand of transient receptor potential melastatin-3 (TRPM3) channels. [PDF]
Several compounds have been proposed to stimulate TRPM3 Ca2+ channels. We recently showed that stimulation of TRPM3 channels with pregnenolone sulfate activated the transcription factor AP-1, while other proposed TRPM3 ligands (nifedipine, D-erythro-sphingosine) exhibited either no or TRPM3-independent effects on gene transcription.
