Stationary wave patterns generated by an impurity moving with supersonic velocity through a Bose-Einstein condensate [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Formation of stationary 3D wave patterns generated by a small point-like impurity moving through a Bose-Einstein condensate with supersonic velocity is studied. Asymptotic formulae for a stationary far-field density distribution are obtained.

Research of Dynamic Obstacle Avoidance of Manipulator based on Artificial Potential Field Method of Velocity Field

open access: yesJixie chuandong, 2020
In order to improve the safety and accuracy of the manipulator in dynamic obstacle avoidance,an artificial potential field collision avoidance algorithm based on velocity field is proposed.Firstly, the attracted velocity field is established to obtain the

A local grid refinement technique based upon Richardson extrapolation [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
A grid-embedding technique for the solution of two-dimensional incompressible flows governed by the Navier-Stokes equations is presented. A single coarse grid covers the whole domain, and local grid refinement B carried out in the regions of high ...

A distributed resistance inverse method for flow obstacle identification from internal velocity measurements

open access: yesInverse Problems, 2021
Abstract We present a penalization parameter method for obstacle identification in an incompressible fluid flow for a modified version of the Oseen equations. The proposed method consists in adding a high resistance potential to the system such that some subset of its boundary support represents the obstacle.

Three-Dimensional Flight Conflict Detection and Resolution Based on Particle Swarm Optimization

open access: yesAerospace, 2023
This paper presents a conflict detection and resolution method based on a velocity obstacle method for flight conflicts in a three-dimensional space. With the location and speed information of the two aircraft, the optimal relief strategy is obtained ...

Particle Swarm Optimization Based Source Seeking [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Signal source seeking using autonomous vehicles is a complex problem. The complexity increases manifold when signal intensities captured by physical sensors onboard are noisy and unreliable.

Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Obstacle Avoidance Based Custom Elliptic Domain

open access: yesDrones
The velocity obstacles (VO) method is widely employed in real-time obstacle avoidance research for UAVs due to its succinct mathematical foundation and rapid, dynamic planning abilities.

Rafting of Ni‐Based Superalloys Under Multiaxial Load as Understood by Phase‐Field Simulations and Critical Experiments

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Phase‐field simulations coupled with dislocation‐density‐based crystal plasticity modeling reproduce γ′ rafting behavior in single‐crystal Ni‐based superalloys under varied loading conditions. The model captures both macroscopic creep and microscopic morphology evolution, with results matching high‐temperature creep experiments.

Phase Field Failure Modeling: Brittle‐Ductile Dual‐Phase Microstructures under Compressive Loading

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The approach by Amor and the approach by Miehe and Zhang for asymmetric damage behavior in the phase field method for fracture are compared regarding their fitness for microcrack‐based failure modeling. The comparison is performed for the case of a dual‐phase microstructure with a brittle and a ductile constituent.

Critical velocity of a finite-temperature Bose gas

open access: yes, 2016
We use classical field simulations of the homogeneous Bose gas to study the breakdown of superflow due to vortex nucleation past a cylindrical obstacle at finite temperature.
