Genomic characterizations of Xanthomonas cucurbitae and using comparative genomics to predict novel microbe-associated molecular patterns in Xanthomonas [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Bacterial spot is a major plant disease caused by many plant-pathogenic members of the genus Xanthomonas. While each species is narrow in host range, bacterial spot Xanthomonads infect a large variety of plant hosts, leading to large economic losses for

Sweet pepper breeding against bacterial spot (Xanthomonas euvesicatoria) in Serbia

open access: yes, 2016
Bacterial spot of pepper (BS) caused by Xanthomonas euvesicatoria is one of the most important pepper diseases in Serbia. Growing of resistant pepper genotypes is the most efficient way of BS control. The study was started in 2013, when eight pepper varieties from the Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops, Novi Sad (IFVCNS), Cal wonder and isogenic ...

Evaluation of the Stability of Synthetic Plasmids in Xanthomonas euvesicatoria Cells

open access: yesActa Microbiologica Bulgarica
The aim of the present study was to investigate the possibility of obtaining stably transformed cultures of a wild strain of Xanthomonas euvesicatoria (269p). The stability of two commercial synthetic plasmids, pBbB13k-GFP and pWVR5, and one recombinant plasmid constructed in this study (pWG5) was evaluated in the cell of this phytopathogen.
