Conjugates of Cryptophycin and RGD or isoDGR Peptidomimetics for Targeted Drug Delivery

open access: yesChemistryOpen, 2019
RGD‐cryptophycin and isoDGR‐cryptophycin conjugates were synthetized by combining peptidomimetic integrin ligands and cryptophycin, a highly potent tubulin‐binding antimitotic agent across lysosomally cleavable Val‐Ala or uncleavable linkers.

Kallikrein gene-modified EPCs induce angiogenesis in rats with ischemic hindlimb and correlate with integrin αvβ3 expression. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2013
BACKGROUND: Human tissue kallikrein (hTK) plays an essential role in the physiological and pathological mechanisms of blood vessels. This study aimed to determine whether angiogenesis induced by endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs) transduced with the ...

Cell Adhesion by Design: Engineering Tissue Culture Scaffolds With Adhesion Cues

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In scaffold‐based tissue engineering, the matrix should provide adequate adhesion cues for cell attachment, spreading, and function. Given the multitude of adhesion receptors and the diversity of scaffolds, there are many approaches to render scaffolds adhesive, even though they are not all equivalent.

Structural basis for pure antagonism of integrin αVβ3 by a high affinity form of fibronectin [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Integrins are important therapeutic targets. However, current RGD-based anti-integrin drugs are also partial agonists, inducing conformational changes that trigger potentially fatal immune reactions and paradoxical cell adhesion.

Interactions of Antibody Drug Conjugate Anti‐Tubulin and Topoisomerase I Inhibitor Payloads with Radiotherapy to Potentiate Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Antibody drug conjugates deliver their cytotoxic anti‐tubulin or topoisomerase I inhibitor payloads to tumors through cancer cell receptor targeting. The released drug payloads induce cellular changes that interact with radiotherapy resulting in radiosensitization that improves cancer cell kill and stimulates anti‐tumor immune responses.
