Microbiota Signatures in Early Life and Their Association With Food Allergy: A Systematic Review
ABSTRACT Food allergy (FA) is increasing worldwide, and early life may be a critical window for immune training. We systematically reviewed observational human studies linking early‐life microbiota (infant, maternal, environmental, or extraintestinal) profiled using culture‐based and/or culture‐independent methods (including sequencing‐based approaches)

Tissue alarmins and adaptive cytokine induce dynamic and distinct transcriptional responses in tissue-resident intraepithelial cytotoxic T lymphocytes. [PDF]
The respective effects of tissue alarmins interleukin (IL)-15 and interferon beta (IFNβ), and IL-21 produced by T cells on the reprogramming of cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs) that cause tissue destruction in celiac disease is poorly understood ...

Chromatin as alarmins in necrotizing enterocolitis
Necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC) is a severe gastrointestinal disease primarily affecting premature neonates, marked by poorly understood pro-inflammatory signaling cascades. Recent advancements have shed light on a subset of endogenous molecular patterns, termed chromatin-associated molecular patterns (CAMPs), which belong to the broader category of ...

The Airway Transcriptome in Type 2 Cytokine Biomarker‐High and ‐Low Severe Asthma
This study distinguishes severe asthma–related airway transcriptomic changes from the effects of high‐dose ICS. Most dysregulated genes in severe asthma show concordance with corticosteroid responses. Corticosteroid‐resistant T2‐high asthma featured T2‐high and epithelial barrier gene upregulation, while T2‐low asthma featured Th1/IL‐17 signatures. ASM,

Advancing precision medicine for asthma by focusing on type 2 cytokines and alarmins [PDF]
Purpose of reviewAsthma is a heterogeneous disease encompassing distinct phenotypes and endotypes. Advances in elucidating the pathogenic role of type 2 (T2) cytokines and epithelial-derived alarmins have profoundly reshaped our understanding of airway ...

Prothymosinα, as a neuroprotective DAMPs/Alarmins molecule
Prothymosin alpha (ProTα) has been identified as an anti-necrotic factor from the conditioned medium of primary cultured of rat cortical neurons under the serum-free starving condition. ProTα is released in a non-vesicular manner from neurons or astrocytes by the help of cargo protein S100A13.

Skin tape strip lipidomic analysis revealed preexisting skin barrier lipid abnormalities at day 0 that were further exacerbated after 6 weeks of CPI treatment. Significant changes in skin (but not plasma) proinflammatory cytokines were identified in future ircAE patients after 6 weeks of CPI immunotherapy.

The last step to achieve barrier damage control
Heterogeneity characterises inflammatory diseases and different phenotypes and endotypes have been identified. Both innate and adaptive immunity contribute to the immunopathological mechanism of these diseases and barrier damage plays a prominent role ...

ABSTRACT Basophils, the least abundant leukocytes, are increasingly recognised as potent immunomodulators. Upon activation, they rapidly release preformed granule‐associated mediators including histamine and lipid mediators such as LTC4, while cytokine production occurs over a longer timescale, contributing to downstream immune responses.
