Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.

Changes in protein nutritional quality as affected by processing of millet supplemented with Moringa seed flour

open access: yesJournal of the Saudi Society of Agricultural Sciences, 2018
Pearl millet flour was supplemented with 5%, 10% and 15% defatted Moringa seeds flour (DMSF). Raw and supplemented flour were fermented and/or cooked for 0, 8 and 16 h.

Utilization of ileal digestible amino acids by growing pigs: threonine [PDF]

open access: yesBritish Journal of Nutrition, 1991
An experiment was conducted to determine the utilization of ileal digestible threonine by growing pigs. Three threonine-deficient diets (0.22 g ileal digestible threonine/MJ digestible energy (DE)) were formulated using cottonseed meal, meat-and-bone meal and soya-bean meal respectively, as the only source of threonine in the diet.

Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.

Protein Digestibility of Cereal Products

open access: yesFoods, 2019
Protein digestibility is currently a hot research topic and is of big interest to the food industry. Different scoring methods have been developed to describe protein quality. Cereal protein scores are typically low due to a suboptimal amino acid profile

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

The in vitro determination of the protein quality of rumen microorganisms of cows on urea-rich feed

open access: yesAgricultural and Food Science, 1979
The amino acid composition, essential amino acid index (EAA-I), pepsin-pancreatin in vitro digestibility and pepsin-pancreatin-digest-residue-index (PPDR-I) of the rumen bacterial and protozoal protein of cows fed urea and ammonium salts as their sole ...

Meat protein quality of Dormitator latifrons (Pisces: Eleotridae): arguments for use by rural communities

open access: yesEcosistemas y Recursos Agropecuarios, 2019
The objective of this study was to evaluate the quality of meat protein of Dormitator latifrons for humans based on its Protein Digestibility Corrected Amino Acid Score (PDCAAS).

Digestible sulfur amino acid requirement of starting turkeys

open access: yesPoultry Science, 1997
Three experiments (a total of 1,020 poults) were conducted to determine the digestible sulfur amino acid (SAA) requirement for female turkey poults during the starter period. Poults were fed a standard corn-soybean meal diet (PC) that met or exceeded NRC recommendations (28% CP, 3,172 kcal MEn/kg) for 1 wk and were then randomly assigned to treatments ...

Screening and epitope characterization of Nidogen‐2‐specific nanobodies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Camel immunization and phage display were employed to generate high‐affinity VHH nanobodies against Nidogen‐2. After library construction, biopanning, ELISA screening, sequencing, and recombinant expression, selected nanobodies were purified and characterized, leading to the preliminary exploration of a nanobody‐based sandwich ELISA for specific ...
