Impact of Low‐Dose Cranberry Polyphenols on Gut Microbiota and Circulating Polyphenol Metabolites in Overweight and Obese Individuals (A Randomized Double‐Blind Placebo‐Controlled Clinical Pilot Study)

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 6, June 2026.
The health‐promoting effects of cranberry are largely attributed to its polyphenol content, which is known to reach the colon in largely unmetabolized form. The cranberry group significantly elevated catechol‐O‐sulfate levels compared to the placebo group.

Virgin Coconut Oil Attenuates Diabetic Kidney Disease via Gut Microbiota‐Metabolism‐Inflammation Axis Modulation in Type 2 Diabetic Mice

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 6, June 2026.
This study elucidates the multi‐targeted mechanisms of Virgin Coconut Oil (CO) as a dietary intervention for ameliorating Diabetic Kidney Disease (DKD). High‐purity medium‐chain fatty acids (MCFAs, primarily octanoic acid [C8:0] and decanoic acid [C10:0]) in CO significantly remodel the gut microbiota by enriching short‐chain fatty acid (SCFA ...

Integrating Bone‐Brain Axis Modulation and Tea Consumption for Enhancing Neurovascular Resilience and Patient Rehabilitation Education

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 6, June 2026.
This figure illustrates how tea consumption and exercise metabolites may synergistically support neurovascular protection related to hemorrhagic risk. (A) Pathological mechanisms such as vascular injury, small‐vessel fragility, and impaired cerebral perfusion increase cerebrovascular vulnerability.
