Ultrasound-targeted microbubble destruction optimized HGF-overexpressing bone marrow stem cells to repair fibrotic liver in rats

open access: yesStem Cell Research & Therapy, 2020
Background/aims Bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) have shown their therapeutic potential in cytotherapy for liver fibrosis. However, the insufficient homing of BMSCs and undefined proliferation of BMSCs represent a significant challenge and ...

The monoclonal antibody nBT062 conjugated to maytansinoids has potent and selective cytotoxicity against CD138 positive multiple myeloma cells _in vitro_ and _in vivo_ [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
CD138 (Syndecan1) is highly expressed on multiple myeloma (MM) cells. In this study, we examined the anti-MM effect of murine/human chimeric CD138-specific monoclonal antibody (mAb) nBT062 conjugated with highly cytotoxic maytansinoid derivatives _in ...

Pathfinder cells provide a novel therapeutic intervention for acute kidney injury [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Pathfinder cells (PCs) are a novel class of adult-derived cells that facilitate functional repair of host tissue. We used rat PCs to demonstrate that they enable the functional mitigation of ischemia reperfusion (I/R) injury in a mouse model of renal ...

Design of Safe and Efficient Adenine Base Editors via Protein Language Model Screening for Osteoarthritis Treatment

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Base editors enable precise genome modification and have emerged as a promising therapeutic approach for correcting diseases caused by single‐nucleotide variants. While the current efficient version of adenine base editors (ABEs), such as ABE8e, exhibits exceptional efficiency for A‐to‐G conversions, their clinical translation is hindered by ...

Ascorbic acid 2-glucoside preconditioning enhances the ability of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells in promoting wound healing

open access: yesStem Cell Research & Therapy, 2022
Background Nowadays, wound is associated with a complicated repairing process and still represents a significant biomedical burden worldwide. Bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) possess multidirectional differentiation potential and secretory ...

Bone marrow senescence and the microenvironment of hematological malignancies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Senescence is the irreversible arrest of cell proliferation that has now been shown to play an important role in both health and disease. With increasing age senescent cells accumulate throughout the body, including the bone marrow and this has been ...

Intra-subject variability in human bone marrow stromal cell (BMSC) replicative senescence: Molecular changes associated with BMSC senescence

open access: yesStem Cell Research, 2013
The outcomes of clinical trials using bone marrow stromal cell (BMSC) are variable; the degree of the expansion of BMSCs during clinical manufacturing may contribute to this variability since cell expansion is limited by senescence. Human BMSCs from aspirates of healthy subjects were subcultured serially until cell growth stopped.

ZMAT1 Promotes Osteoclastogenesis Through TRIM46 Mediated YAP1 Degradation and Inhibits Osteoblastogenesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Zmat1 deficiency mitigates pathological bone loss by impairing osteoclastogenesis and promoting osteoblastogenesis. Mechanistically, in osteoclasts, Zmat1 loss relieves transcriptional repression of the E3 ligase TRIM46, promoting YAP1 degradation and inhibiting osteoclastogenic genes.

Andrographolide protects bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells against glucose and serum deprivation under hypoxia via the NRF2 signaling pathway

open access: yesStem Cell Research & Therapy, 2022
Background Bone marrow mesenchymal stem cell (BMSCs) therapy is an important cell transplantation strategy in the regenerative medicine field. However, a severely ischemic microenvironment, such as nutrient depletion and hypoxia, causes a lower survival ...
