Caspase-8 catalytic activity is required for maximal TLR-induced cytokine production.
(A-F) Indicated BMDMs were pretreated with the pan-caspase inhibitor zVAD-fmk (A-C), QVD-oph (D) or IETD-fmk (F) for 1hr prior to 6 hr stimulation with LPS (100 ng/mL).

Mechanoluminescent HOF Nanotransducers Enabled Sono‐Optogenetics in Parkinsonian Rats
We present a mechanoluminescent system utilizing porous hydrogen‐bonded organic frameworks (HOFs) as a toolkit for focused ultrasound‐triggered, non‐invasive light delivery to the deep brain in rats. This approach enables the specific activation of PV‐GPe neurons in dopamine‐depleted Parkinson's disease rat models, resulting in a comparable alleviation

TNFA deletion alters apoptosis as well as caspase 3 and 4 expression during otitis media
Background Tumor necrosis factor (TNFA) is the canonical member of the TNF superfamily, which plays a major role in both inflammation and apoptosis. To evaluate the role of TNFs in otitis media (OM), the most common disease of childhood, we evaluated ...

Background: The BH3-only protein Bid is an important component of death receptor-mediated caspase activation. Bid is cleaved by caspase-8 or -10 into t-Bid, which translocates to mitochondria and triggers the release of caspase-activating factors.

We present a novel proteolysis‐targeting chimera (PROTAC) system conjugated to lipoic acid gold nanoclusters (PLANC), designed to degrade pTau, regulate inflammatory signaling, and effectively traverse the blood‐brain barrier (BBB). PLANC degraded pTau at various phosphorylation sites, with mechanistic studies confirming proteasome‐mediated degradation

E. histolytica activates caspase-4 and caspase-1 in a time-dependent manner.
The kinetics of Eh-induced caspase-4 activation was detected by incubating PMA-differentiated THP-1 macrophages for increasing amounts of time with 1:20 Eh to macrophage ratio. (A) Macrophages were incubated for increasing amounts of time with 1:20 Eh to

Radiation‐induced hypothyroidism follows head and neck radiotherapy due to oxidative stress and inflammation. Electrospun polycaprolactone scaffolds containing adenosine have potential to modulate thyroid repair. Scaffolds enhance thyrocyte proliferation, antioxidant enzymes glutathione peroxidase and catalase, reduce senescence and apoptosis markers ...
