Protocol for identifying Dicer as dsRNA binding and cleaving reagent in response to transfected dsRNA

open access: yesSTAR Protocols
Mammalian Dicer has been proved to be functional on double-stranded RNAs (dsRNAs) and involved in antiviral immunity or immune regulation. Here, we present a protocol for identifying Dicer as a dsRNA binding and cleaving factor to transfected dsRNA in cell lines, based on small RNA sequencing (RNA-seq) and dsRNA-immunoprecipitation (dsRNA-IP).

The exposomal imprint on rosacea: More than skin deep

open access: yesJournal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology, EarlyView.
Rosacea reflects systemic and environmental interactions, not just a skin disorder. Key factors include environmental triggers, genetic and microbiome influences, diagnostic gaps in skin of colour and social determinants. Advances in multi‐omics and exposome integration highlight pathways towards precision medicine, prevention and equitable, patient ...

Potencial tehnologije SIGS za zatiranje glive Verticillium nonalfalfae

open access: yesHmeljarski Bilten

RNAi reveals a unique set of kinesins mediating chloroplast motility in the giant cytoplasm of Bryopsis (Ulvophyceae), a coenocytic green alga

open access: yesJournal of Phycology, EarlyView.
Abstract RNA interference (RNAi) is a powerful tool for protein knockdown and is widely used in model animals and plants. Here, we implemented RNAi in Bryopsis, a green feather alga that develops a coenocytic thallus >10 cm in length without cytokinesis.

An Improved Description of the Small RNA Landscape of the Human Fungal Pathogen Aspergillus fumigatus

open access: yesMolecular Microbiology, EarlyView.
The mechanisms of small RNA biogenesis in fungi are diverse and multifactorial. Here, we provide an improved understanding of the processing of double‐stranded RNA in the human fungal pathogen Aspergillus fumigatus, revealing susceptibility to high levels of double‐stranded RNA and limited input of the canonical RNAi machinery on the endogenous small ...

Transgenic Tobacco Plants Expressing Synthetic Peptides: A Functional and Structural Analysis for Pathogen Resistance

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, EarlyView.
Peptide Power: VR18 & KG18 Shield Tobacco from Bacterial Attack. A schematic shows how antimicrobial peptides VR18 and KG18 fight Pseudomonas syringae—bursting bacterial membranes and boosting disease resistance in transgenic tobacco, without harming plant health.
