REDIportal: toward an integrated view of the A-to-I editing [PDF]

open access: yes
A-to-I RNA editing is the most common non-transient epitranscriptome modification. It plays several roles in human physiology and has been linked to several disorders.

Cell‐Type‐Specific WTAP and ALKBH5‐Mediated m6A Methylation Orchestrates Mental Disorders via Gut‐Brain Axis Metabolite Signaling: Multi‐Omics Evidence and Pyroptosis‐Associated Loop Mechanism

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, Volume 32, Issue 3, March 2026.
MR analysis revealed distinct causal associations of m6A modifiers (WTAP/ALKBH5) with mental disorders. Gut microbiota (GCA‐900066755, Bacillus) and CSF metabolites (theophylline, isoleucine) mediated 5.06%–45.28% of effects via pathways such as WTAP → GCA‐900066755 → theophylline → ADHD. Single‐cell eQTL linked WTAP‐mediated ADHD risk to XCL1‐NK cells,

Unraveling the dual role of METTL3-mediated m6A RNA modification in bladder cancer: mechanisms, therapeutic vulnerabilities, and clinical implications

open access: yesCancer Biology & Therapy
Bladder cancer (BC) remains challenging due to its recurrence and metastasis, with METTL3-mediated m6 A RNA modification emerging as a key oncogenic driver. This review synthesizes METTL3’s roles in BC progression, including tumor initiation, metastasis,

From RNA and its NAD-cap: Exploring T4 phage infection from an epitranscriptomic perspective [PDF]

open access: yes
Bacteriophages are viruses with the ability to specifically infect and kill bacteria. Bacteriophage research has shaped our understanding of fundamental biological principles and provided tools for molecular biology, but it has long been forgotten. Thus,

N6-methyladenosine RNA modifications in myogenesis / narrative competence and cognitive mapping as a culturally sustaining pedagogy in the education of emergent bilinguals [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
Myogenesis involves skeletal muscle stem cells (MuSCs) that produce and regenerate skeletal muscle during regular growth and repair. However, when this system fails to function normally, it can lead to musculoskeletal diseases like Duchenne Muscular ...

ALKBH3 suppresses ischemia/reperfusion‐induced PANoptosis by regulating the ZBED6/STAT1/AIM2 axis through m1A demethylation

open access: yesClinical and Translational Medicine, Volume 16, Issue 3, March 2026.
ALKBH3 alleviates myocardial ischemia/reperfusion injury by suppressing PANoptosis. ALKBH3 promotes ZBED6 translation via mRNA m1A demethylation. ZBED6 promotes the interaction between STAT1 and NEDD4L to facilitate STAT1 ubiquitination and subsequent degradation.

Identification and characterization of novel methyltransferases [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
So far 172 different types of nucleic acid modifications had been identified. However, for many RNA and DNA modifications the function(s) and the modifying enzymes (”writers”) are still not known. In my Ph.D.

The multifaceted roles of the ACSL family in cancer: Metabolic reprogramming, ferroptosis regulation and tumour immune microenvironment remodelling

open access: yesClinical and Translational Medicine, Volume 16, Issue 3, March 2026.
The acyl‐CoA synthetase long‐chain (ACSL) family consists of five members, which exhibit a synergistic effect in promoting tumour lipid metabolism for energy supply. Specifically, ACSL3 and ACSL4 have antagonistic effects on the mechanisms related to ferroptosis in tumour cells.
