Using genotyping‐by‐sequencing to predict gender in animals [PDF]

open access: yesAnimal Genetics, 2019
SummaryGender assignment errors are common in some animal species and lead to inaccuracies in downstream analyses. Procedures for detecting gender misassignment are available for array‐based SNP data but are still being developed for genotyping‐by‐sequencing (GBS) data.

Analysis of Genotyping-by-Sequencing (GBS) Data

open access: yes, 2016
The development of genotyping-by-sequencing (GBS) to rapidly detect nucleotide variation at the whole genome level, in many individuals simultaneously, has provided a transformative genetic profiling technique. GBS can be carried out in species with or without reference genome sequences yields huge amounts of potentially informative data.

Haplotype‐based genotyping‐by‐sequencing in oat genome research [PDF]

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, 2018
SummaryIn a de novo genotyping‐by‐sequencing (GBS) analysis of short, 64‐base tag‐level haplotypes in 4657 accessions of cultivated oat, we discovered 164741 tag‐level (TL) genetic variants containing 241224 SNPs. From this, the marker density of an oat consensus map was increased by the addition of more than 70000 loci.

The development of a porcine 50K SNP panel using genotyping by target sequencing and its application

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Agriculture
Genotyping by target sequencing (GBTS) integrates the advantages of silicon-based technology (high stability and reliability) and genotyping by sequencing (high flexibility and cost-effectiveness). However, GBTS panels are not currently available in pigs.

Concordant geographic and genetic structure revealed by genotyping‐by‐sequencing in a New Zealand marine isopod

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, 2020
Population genetic structure in the marine environment can be influenced by life‐history traits such as developmental mode (biphasic, with distinct adult and larval morphology, and direct development, in which larvae resemble adults) or habitat ...

Analysis of Genetic Diversity and Development of A Core Collection in Walnut (Juglans regia L.) Germplasm Native to China via Genotyping-by-Sequencing

open access: yesAgronomy, 2023
Popular knowledge of the population structure and genetic diversity of a plant species is essential for designing improvement strategies. The genotyping-by-sequencing (GBS) approach has been used to simplify complex genomes and has become a popular high ...

Genotyping-by-sequencing performance in selected livestock species

open access: yesGenomics, 2019
Application of next generation sequencing for large scale genotyping in livestock is limited by high costs and challenging data analysis process. However, available restriction enzyme-based enrichment techniques like e.g. genotyping-by-sequencing (GBS) are promising tools allowing reduction of financial outlies by a high sample multiplexing and ...

Strong isolation by distance among local populations of an endangered butterfly species (Euphydryas aurinia)

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, 2021
The marsh fritillary (Euphydryas aurinia) is a critically endangered butterfly species in Denmark known to be particularly vulnerable to habitat fragmentation due to its poor dispersal capacity.

tGBS® genotyping-by-sequencing enables reliable genotyping of heterozygous loci [PDF]

open access: yesNucleic Acids Research, 2017
Conventional genotyping-by-sequencing (cGBS) strategies suffer from high rates of missing data and genotyping errors, particularly at heterozygous sites. tGBS® genotyping-by-sequencing is a novel method of genome reduction that employs two restriction enzymes to generate overhangs in opposite orientations to which (single-strand) oligos rather than ...

Use of biostimulants for water stress mitigation in two durum wheat (Triticum durum Desf.) genotypes with different drought tolerance

open access: yesPlant Stress
Agriculture is facing complex and unprecedented challenges, such as climate change and global population growth, associated with the increase of food demand. Durum wheat (DW) is a strategic crop for food security in the Mediterranean region. In this work,
