Characteristics of CD8+ and CD4+ Tissue‐Resident Memory Lymphocytes in the Gastrointestinal Tract

open access: yesAdvanced Gut &Microbiome Research, Volume 2022, Issue 1, 2022., 2022
Tissue‐resident memory T cells (TRMs) are plentiful in the memory T cell pool and persist in barrier sites without recirculating. Increasing evidence has shown that some kinds of CD8+ TRMs and CD4+ TRMs are resident in the gastrointestinal tract (GI), playing an important role in the context of microbiota‐immune interactions, infections, maintenance of

Observation of arenavirus nucleoprotein heptamer assembly

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, Volume 11, Issue 4, Page 1076-1083, April 2021., 2021
The nucleoprotein associates with RNA to form a ribonucleoprotein complex. The nucleoprotein trends to self‐assemble into heptameric rings. Theses rings represent stable intermediate states representative of the average full turn of the Arenaviridae ribonucleoprotein filament.

Lymphocytic Choriomeningitis Virus Infections and Seroprevalence, Southern Iraq

open access: yesEmerging Infectious Diseases, 2020
Acute febrile neurological infection cases in southern Iraq (N = 212) were screened for lymphocytic choriomeningitis virus (LCMV). Two LCMV IgM–positive serum samples and 2 cerebrospinal fluid samples with phylogenetically distinct LCMV strains were ...

Novel Dihydroorotate Dehydrogenase Inhibitors with Potent Interferon-Independent Antiviral Activity against Mammarenaviruses In Vitro

open access: yesViruses, 2020
Mammarenaviruses cause chronic infections in rodents, which are their predominant natural hosts. Human infection with some of these viruses causes high-consequence disease, posing significant issues in public health.

Host-Associated Distribution of Two Novel Mammarenaviruses in Rodents from Southern Africa

open access: yesViruses, 2022
Mammarenaviruses are hosted by several rodent species, a small number of which have been known to be zoonotic. Host surveillance among small mammals has identified a large diversity of previously undescribed mammarenaviruses.

A novel mammarenavirus (family Arenaviridae) in hedgehogs (Erinaceus roumanicus) in Europe

open access: yesArchives of Virology, 2023
AbstractIn this study, a novel mammarenavirus (family Arenaviridae) was identified in a hedgehog (family Erinaceidae) in Hungary and genetically characterized. Mecsek Mountains virus (MEMV, OP191655, OP191656) was detected in nine (45%) out of 20 faecal specimens collected from a Northern white-breasted hedgehog (Erinaceus roumanicus).
