This work introduces state‐convergent polymerization (SCP), a polymerization framework in which chemically diverse reaction pathways converge toward a reproducible functional polymeric state rather than a defined molecular structure. Using melanin and polydopamine as exemplars, SCP explains how robust polymer functions emerge under chemical and ...

ABSTRACT This study explored fasting‐induced physiological remodeling effects on meat quality in aged laying hens. Fasting for 15 days (F15) significantly reduced abdominal fat, intermuscular fat width, subcutaneous fat thickness, and liver index versus pre‐fasting (F0) (p < 0.05), which recovered post‐refeeding.

Genetic Diversity, Adaptation, Wild Introgression, and Coat Color Mutation of Golden Yak
Genetic diversity, adaptation, wild introgression, and coat color mutation of golden yak from two populations on the Qinghai‐Xizang Plateau. ABSTRACT The golden yak lives on the Qinghai‐Xizang Plateau with a golden coat and adapts to high altitudes and strong ultraviolet environment. The golden coat is a prominent phenotype in many domesticated species,

Melanogenesis: A Search for Pheomelanin and Also, What Is Lurking Behind Those Dark Colors?
We investigated the synthesis of melanin-like materials from DOPA, dopamine, norepinephrine and epinephrine in the presence of L-cysteine. We observed that L-cysteine delayed the formation of pigment from these catecholamines and that the presence of L ...
