Photoprotection by dietary phenolics against melanogenesis induced by UVA through Nrf2-dependent antioxidant responses

open access: yesRedox Biology, 2016
Dietary phenolics may play a protective role in UV-mediated skin pigmentation through their antioxidant and UV-absorbing actions. In this study, we investigated whether genetic silencing of Nrf2, regulating the transcription of antioxidant genes ...

Integrative Phosphoproteomic Profiling Reveals Stage‐Specific Signalling and Metabolism in Equine Melanocytic Neoplasm

open access: yesVeterinary and Comparative Oncology, Volume 24, Issue 3, Page 468-484, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Equine melanocytic neoplasms (EMN) are aggressive tumours characterised by high metastatic potential and limited therapeutic options available. However, the molecular mechanisms underlying their progression remain poorly understood. This study therefore presents the integrative phosphoproteomic analysis of EMN tissue, with the aim of ...

Sex‐Linked Dilution Colour in the European Domestic Goose Indicated To Be a 1‐Bp Deletion in the Melan‐A Gene

open access: yesAnimal Genetics, Volume 57, Issue 4, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Plumage colour in domestic geese is an important economic trait and a selection target since the early days of domestication. In European domestic geese of greylag goose (Anser anser) origin, white plumage is known to be determined by two independent loci, one causing white spotting and another sex‐linked dilution, together producing white ...

Discovery of VEGFR‐2 Inhibitors From Leonurus japonicus via Integrated Genetic Authentication, Molecular Networking, and In Silico Analysis

open access: yesArchiv der Pharmazie, Volume 359, Issue 8, August 2026.
Genetic authentication of Leonurus japonicus was confirmed using ITS sequencing. UHPLC‐MS/MS‐GNPS analysis and isolation led to a new labdane diterpenoid (1) and known compounds (2–6), with anti‐angiogenic activity validated by EPC assays and VEGFR‐2 docking studies.

Phytochemical Characterization and Bioactive Potential of Stachys germanica L.: LC–MS/MS Profiling and Multi‐Target Biological Activities

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 8, August 2026.
The 80% ethanolic extract of Stachys germanica L. exhibited a phenolic‐rich phytochemical profile characterized by chlorogenic acid, naringin, luteolin, and kaempferol. The extract demonstrated notable antioxidant capacity, selective tyrosinase and α‐glucosidase inhibition, and significant antibacterial activity against Acinetobacter baumannii ATCC ...

Photodynamic Therapy for Facial Rejuvenation Combined Amber LED and Infrared Laser Irradiation: A Pilot Study Comparing ALA and MAL

open access: yesJournal of Biophotonics, Volume 19, Issue 8, August 2026.
Topical ALA‐ and MAL‐based photodynamic protocols combined with amber light and infrared irradiation produced distinct PpIX fluorescence profiles in photoaged skin, revealing different photodynamic responses and supporting their potential use as complementary strategies for skin rejuvenation and improvement of photoaging‐related strategies.

Apigenin and Phloretin Combination for Skin Aging and Hyperpigmentation Regulation

open access: yesCosmetics
Melasma is a pathology with multifactorial causes that results in hyperpigmentation of sun-exposed areas, particularly facial skin. New treatments targeting the different factors regulating this condition need to be effective with and have limited ...

MITF Regulates CFTR Expression to Participate in Myocardial Ischemia–Reperfusion Injury

open access: yesThe Journal of Gene Medicine, Volume 28, Issue 8, August 2026.
MITF regulates CFTR expression in MIRI, and disruption of the MITF‐CFTR axis is associated with aggravated injury in cellular and animal models. Restoring CFTR partially mitigates MITF deficiency‐related damage. These findings support the involvement of MITF‐CFTR regulation in MIRI and provide a basis for further mechanistic investigation.
