ABSTRACT Insulin resistance is the biological phenomenon in which the human body's normal response to the metabolic hormone insulin is compromised. Insulin is a regulator of most of the essential metabolic steps in the body that control energy homoeostasis, so dysregulation leads to multiple diverse human diseases including, most prominently, Type 2 ...

Quark mass thresholds in QCD thermodynamics
We discuss radiative corrections to how quark mass thresholds are crossed, as a function of the temperature, in basic thermodynamic observables such as the pressure, the energy and entropy densities, and the heat capacity of high temperature QCD.

Low- and high-dose hydrogen peroxide regulation of transcription factor NF-E2-related factor 2.
Reactive oxygen species (ROS) may play both physiological and pathophysiological roles. Transcription factor NF-E2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) regulates antioxidant response element (ARE)-mediated genes expression and coordinates induction of chemoprotective proteins in response to physical and chemical stresses.

NF‐E2‐related factor 2 regulates the stress response to UVA‐1‐oxidized phospholipids in skin cells
ABSTRACT Long‐wavelength ultraviolet (UVA‐1) radiation causes oxidative stress that modifies cellular molecules. To defend themselves against noxious oxidation products, skin cells produce detoxifying enzymes and antioxidants.

SUMOylation, a dynamic post‐translational modification, acts as a master regulator at the heart of tumor malignancy. Our work delineates how the SUMOylation cycle—mediated by E1/E2/E3 enzymes and reversed by SENPs—orchestrates multiple hallmarks of cancer. The central pathway converges on three critical pathological axes: 1.

Vortex-Strings in N=2 SQCD and Bulk-String Decoupling
We study vortex-strings in four-dimensional N=2 supersymmetric SU(Nc)xU(1) gauge theories with Nf hypermultiplets in the fundamental representation of SU(Nc) and general U(1) charges.
